The Oilers will counter with just one of them.
That’s the game, that’s what Pesce will cost.
1st
3rd
Ceci
Holloway or Broberg.
Sign Pesce to a 3 yrs 6M per contract starting in 24/25.</div></div>
A first Broberg and Ceci is just too much to pay for me. I’d feel like Carolina committed highway robbery

Try Broberg - Ceci - Bourgault or Lavoie plus picks…
Even then the ask might be Holloway - Broberg plus picks..
Remember, this team has Tulsky & he will want top grade return.</div></div>
If you consider the Ekholm trade it puts it into better perspective. Ekholm is a better player, he had the playoff run and now three more seasons AND Nashville retained money! They got a 1st and Reid Schaefer (last years late first round pick A- level prospect), Tyson Barrie and moved their 6th for our 4th round pick. Okay. Now Pesce isn’t quite as good and only has this one season remaining under contract and it’s known he’s not resigning in CAR. They get a first, B level prospect, quality third liner and quality replacement dman with two years left on his deal. So to me this is a fair trade

Ceci at 3M for two more seasons is a good cheaper replacement player for Pesce in the lineup especially year two when the cap jumps. Then you add Foegele who now has value because of his play in the playoffs. Now a 1st and a B level prospect for a guy that won’t resign in Carolina I think the offer is close

1 x 2.5 is a one year bridge without arb rights to have the cap hit low this season because we’re in win now mode. If we wanna go long term it’s gonna be 7 or 8 years at 7 or 8 million.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Epic_Ninja_Dude</b></div><div>Still doesn't change the fact that we have no need for Yamamoto. He'd probably be on our 4th line at best. His qualifying offer is $3.2 mil, meaning he most likely won't sign for less than that unless you go up to the 4-5 years of term range. I also don't think the Canucks will have to retain to move Garland. He's a 50 point middle six winger, and his contract isn't terrible for that. You can argue he's slightly overpaid, but only by about 500k. He should return a mid round pick, probably around a 3rd. If GM's want Vancouver to pay to get rid of him, then we'll just keep him instead as there's no reason to pay to dump a useful player. The $1.4 mil saved by moving him doesn't really help Vancouver too much. If Garland is moved, the majority of his money will go to getting a 3C.</div></div>
That’s fair

Retaining on Garland makes the impact on our cap space less, and taking back Yamamoto makes the impact on our cap space almost zero while not fixing our logjam at winger.</div></div>
I see it as you’re clearing 1.4M in cap space this season then you can resign Yamo at 25 years old for a lower cap hit if he doesn’t perform at the 2.75M pace I think he’s capable of. Then you’ve the next two years of Garland mostly off the books. With the cap rising 800k won’t sting as much. You’re likely gonna have to retain to move him if you don’t want to give up a good asset to do it

Can’t buyout Carter and you’re not gonna move him without giving up an asset to do so which is why I chose to keep him as the 4C. Bite the bullet. Granlund is a lot better than he showed in his small sample size. He had a tough start in Nashville too then he returned to his 50-60 point player level. I’d give him another go as 3C. PS.. Yamamoto is too small in a bottom 6 role and can only score 15-20 goals in a top 6 role if McDavid is carrying him. He also makes 3 million a year. Daily faceoff said the other day the Oilers might buy him out, he's a cap dump.
Rodrigue can't even put up good numbers in the AHL and was in the ECHL a year ago. He wouldn't even be the Flyers best goalie prospect.
You offered up two future, late first round picks for Hart, two cap dumps, and a B or C level prospect and when you get called out for it you are going to whine. Get real homie.</div></div>
Rodrigue had a .912 in his first AHL season as a 22 year old goaltender that’s very very good bro. As for Yamamoto he’s a 15 goal guy that you can re-sign for less next season. His cap hit won’t matter to y’all this season

I think it’s a long shot too but I can see a world where he looks for the right opportunity on a one year deal to bet on himself and sign a big ticket after. I think it’s likely though that he’ll have better suitors than the caps but it’s in the realm of possibility. That looks like a good fit for him on that second line and if he got PP time I think he’s produce on this hypothetical team.

Pick values pretty close. They’d only move down maybe 12 spots and then add a fourth. I figured it makes sense cause they would still have their own second and they’re missing their third and fourth so it’s a win.

For years 3 and 4 you’d have 1.1M less dead cap if you retain 50% instead of buyout and then you’d have four more years of 2.15M dead cap. Retention is the way to go.

I agree with you on Kulak but I think we need to find a PP QB. Not sure Bouch can do it. I’d trade Foegele 600K retained + 2023 2nd 2024 6th to WASH for TVR & 2023 4th.
