The ref wants you to submit a roster list of your players playing this game ..... a roster size of 20 (12 forwards, 6 defence, and 2 goalies)

Quoting: drewjenks

Yes but his signing clearly indicates that Marner's value is now in the $14,940,000 - $14,960,000 range on a 5 year contract.
How do you not see this?

Wait... I can see it, yes it is now clear! How could I not see this before. Marner should get a 14,959,999.99 contract so it does not look too greedy to ask for the full 14,960,000

Oh my goodness I am now confirming that Real Madrid has offered the Leafs a transfer offer worth nearly $500M. Marner will make close to $300M on his new contract with Real Madrid. The expectation is that he plays point guard and has a batting average of .555 with 72 touchdown passes

I commented that Marner now deserves a max contract due to Ryan Graves getting close to the league minimum but with news of this signing Marner is now asking to become a 100% owner of the Maple Leafs for free

How does this affect the marner negotiations? Well, soderstom has no nhl points and he got 925000, so marner should get infinity.

Quoting: drewjenks

What did Buffalo do that makes you feel like they're "winning the off-season?"
I think the Skinner contract will end up being the worst of the summer (especially in a few years).
I don't see how Buffalo's off-season could even be compared to the Rangers or Leafs ... for example:
THE RANGERS GOT THIS:
Artemi Panarin
Jacob Trouba
Adam Fox
Kaapo Kakko
Brandon Lemieux
Darren Raddysh
Gregg McKegg
2ND - 2019
3RD - 2020
3RD - 2021
4TH - 2019
7TH - 2019
7TH - 2020
FOR THIS:
Mats Zuccarello
Adam McQuaid
Jimmy Vesey
Neal Pionk
Ville Heinola
2ND - 2019
3RD - 2020
How would you compare that to Buffalo's off season?

It's not even close. 12 months ago the Rangers were looking at a 3-4 year playoff drought while they rebuild. Now, they're at the very least, playoff contenders...and maybe more. I hate admitting that they played their hand near perfect as a Devils fan, but...
BUF is still a pretty good ways off from playoff contention. And yes, the Skinner contract was a mistake long term b/c they won't be contenders until he's on the backend of the 8 year deal.

Think it was Paul Dregor. So if Marner doesn't like Leafs final offer....lets say in the first week of September, and no offer sheets are coming, I can just assume that Marner is going to refuse to sign for anything less than 13.5m contract in 2019...and wait till the summer of 2020 to resume negotiations. As I said it must be the Leaf haters that think what a player wants....has meaning.

I'd love to hear McDavid's honest opinion on this.
Edmonton didn't draft a winger until the 4th round this year ... last year they waited until the 7th.
I bet he's miffed that Edmonton hasn't prioritized his wingers ... especially after missing out on award season.
He could have have had some extremely talented line-mates as early as next season:
JOEL FARABEE - CONNOR MCDAVID - COLE CAUFIELD.

Maybe he's miffed that upgrading his wingers has never been a priority ... he could have had some extremely talented line-mates next season:
JOEL FARABEE - CONNOR MCDAVID - COLE CAUFIELD.

Yeah they should have drafted caufeild

Four Years of Cup Runs
I’m not a Canucks fan, but this looks absolutely horrible for them. Pettersson is probably worth more than Marner, and they’re giving up Boeser as well? In the EDM trade, you’re basically just taking on worse salary dumps while giving up Tanev. In the CBJ trade, you’re giving up 3 young players for a 4th liner, a guy who has promise, but scored 2 goals last year. I could go on but I don’t think I need to explain further.
Edit: Oh wait he’s a troll, just look at his previous ACGMs lmao

YOU CAN'T DO IT

I can name quite a few actually...
Karl Alzner - Washed up old Dman who will be bought out soon.
Jack Johnson- After 1 season with Pittsburgh. Penguins already considering buying him out or trading him as a cap dump.
Milan Lucic - Slow old and soon to be bought out or traded as cap dump.
Eric Gryba - AHL Dman and no more
Patrick Marleau - Slow and got bought out. (But just cause he was overpaid for an old guy not cause he sucked)
Tom Pyatt - Old AHL Centerman
Jason Pominville - Retiring
Kyle Okposo - Sabres desperately want to buy him out.
Shall I continue???

Great signing. Good 3rd line center to replace Kadri.

Man Dubas is making great deals as of late
This makes me even more sad that my Pens signed Tanev for same amount AND 6 YEARS...

Quoting: HabsForEver

They gave up those picks and prospects only to let Gardiner leave and now they are in the exact same situation as they were with Gardiner at the beginning of next year.

The Leafs situation next season is quite a bit different than this off season. They go into next offseason with some work to do on D, but their forward group pretty much intact with the exception of pieces of their fourth line, and will have between $16M-$19M in cap space with no albatross contracts. If it makes sense to retain one or even both of Muzzin and Barrie for longer, they will likely have that option, or if it makes sense to go a different route, they will have cap space and flexibility to make changes.
