Colorado Avalanche signed Ondrej Pavel (2 Years / $950,000 AAV)
Why? I have never understood why these college players who aren't even point per game guys are so hyped... His already 22 and this season if you look at the stats was not as good as the season before that... Okay they are cheap but how often this do pan out...

(NSH/PIT) - Granlund for 2023 2nd RD pick
People saying that Grandlund is a disaster defensively has never seen him play, this year yes his been a negative, so is basically the whole team been... Every other season his been a really good defensively and that has also effected his points offensively

Buffalo Sabres signed Dylan Cozens (7 Years / $7,100,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>worldwidesensei</b></div><div>This would already be a steal if he were making that this year.
This would be the 78th-highest contract in the league this year. Cozens is 67th in points currently.</div></div>
A steal after one half og a good season... If he continues like this then i would say it could be a steal this year already... This can be a good deal and also it can still be a bad deal for the team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Manson</b></div><div>In his one game since this extension he took 15 minutes of penalties. Got kicked out for a slash out of anger, and was a -2.
Bad deal for now.</div></div>
You are really gonna use one game to determine that this is a bad deal?... Wow

Minnesota Wild signed Matthew Boldy (7 Years / $7,000,000 AAV)
The issue with this contract is that he had one okay half a season and this season is not looking as good. So giving him this deal is an overpayment. It doesn't matter if there are some players who has been in the same situation (like Thompson) and made the deal look good after the fact. There is as many bad examples (Like Skinner)

Dallas Stars signed Roope Hintz (8 Years / $8,450,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>One of them was a shortened season, thus the .5. You must be fun at parties.</div></div>
So when you add 20+ games this season it adds up to 2... And its still 2 full seasons even if there was a covid season there... Actually that makes it better because that season the games was basically 1game per 2 days and extra stress from covid... So under 9m for a 1C who has lead the best or top 3 line in NHL the last 2 seasons is still a steal

Winnipeg has been dreadful with their draft picks and young stars, i wouldnt be suprised if they botch this one too

Buffalo Sabres signed Mattias Samuelsson (7 Years / $4,285,714 AAV)
It's a bad deal. It can become an okay deal. It doesn't change that they would have gotten the same deal next year even if he would have a great 22-23 season... no point of making this deal

Florida Panthers signed Spencer Knight (3 Years / $4,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>budgeteam</b></div><div>If he has a .930 over 55+ games next season, he is asking for a long term deal at 7-8 million. Which means Florida loses him.
Oettinger just got 4M off of 77 career regular season games and a very strong 7 game playoff run.
I think the reason Florida signed this contract was because even if the odds dictate that Knight will cost less on a 3 year bridge if they wait 1 year, they aren't in a position where they can afford to gamble on the smaller chance that he breaks out as a starter and they cannot keep him. Next off season is going to be similar to this one, there won't be many options available in free agency or trade for teams needing goalies. The Panthers simply can't risk Knight having a strong season and pricing himself out of Florida. Then they are stuck with a declining Bobrovsky, no plan B, and no real replacement in net.
They overpaid by 1M to avoid a worst case scenario. They were dealing from a position of weakness because of how the Bobrovsky contract handcuffed them.</div></div>
Thing is... he can't overprice himself, he would have been a RFA next season without Arbitration rights. And even if he would have like 94% save percentage he would get like 5,5M from the open market... So Still. No point of making this deal now

Florida Panthers signed Spencer Knight (3 Years / $4,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>A_Habs_fan</b></div><div>Good deal, Knight has a year to prove he's worth it before it kicks in and this deal expires when Bob's deal expires meaning goaltending won't be a problem for years. If i'm Zito, i'd much rather give Knight this then have him break out and then need to pay him bigger bucks/give him less term. Is it an overpayment in the now, sure but he should be worth it by year 2 of the extension</div></div>
Even if he would break out, he would get the same, max 5,5m so this is a big risk for the team. In the best case scenario this will look an okay deal next summer...

(NYR/DAL) - Lundkvist for 1st, 4th
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CSStrowbridge</b></div><div>It's a 1st and a 4th for a former 1st and four years of development. I know there was very little leverage, but that's a fair deal.</div></div>
There is no way a former late 1st round pick is worth 1st and 4th pick...Maybe if he would have shown something during those 4 years... He hasnt shown nothing and last season in AHL wasn't a good season for an offensive D-man...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>adawg</b></div><div>i mean 3 mil is probably the going rate of a 20 goal scorer...</div></div>
So what makes him a 20+ scorer? Last 6 seasons 8,19,10,11,17 and 0 goals...
