I think Van would definitely consider this package, but they'd need a top prospect instead of the 2nd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>1- It's not irrelevant at all. Depends on the return, doesn't it?
2- Yeah... six months later. Knee surgeries where you miss half a year are always major.
3- Huh? Again, we are operating off the premise of the trade in this AGM, which is certainly better than you could do with Robertson on his own.
5- Ask any Leafs fan, huh? :tearsofjoy No thanks.
6- Oi vey.
Okay, my friend, I think we've covered it from every angle. You see it your way and that's that.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafsleaks123</b></div><div>1. All I’m saying is Mrazek is gone regardless of whether or not he’s in this trade so that’s irrelevant
2. Wouldn’t call it major surgery, he literally came back and played a game before he was traded
3. I’m saying why give up Robertson if you value him more than any other team, throw in a 2nd instead if you need something on top of the 1st
4. God I hope the leafs don’t trade for Chiarot, that was just to say that the leafs could get most of the D-man on the market right now
5. Campbell and the two way ability of the forwards are responsible for the leafs not giving up many goals, ask any leafs fan, the number one need of the team is someone to play with Muzzin the the top 4
6. Now that I think about it, the blues trade is extremely similar to the leafs. Neighbours and Robertson were both drafted in a similar range, made the NHL as teenagers but didn’t produce very well. Both dominated the CHL. The only difference is Robertson had a few freak injuries but balances that out by having the higher upside, very similar prospects in value. Kerfoot and Barbashev are also more similar then you would like to admit. Both primarily depth players until this year (although Kerfoot has had some very solid years before) both got opportunities in the top six with quality line mates and have produced this year. Yes, Barbashev has more points, but
Kerfoot has more at even strength in less games. Kerfoot is also much better defensively. They are one year in age apart and the both have two years left on their contracts at great value. Barbashev is a bit cheaper and plays C so I might give him a slight edge but it’s very close. Also, yes the blues probably do have the deepest top nine in the league, but the leafs would be up there as well, they don’t need a forward any more then the blues do</div></div>
Great back and forth gents. Love the discussion.

Toronto is 5th in goals for per game and Vancouver is 29th. If Garland was playing in the Leafs top 6 he would be a point per game player. Guaranteed. He's also a pest and hard to play against. If you've seen him play, you'd understand. And I actually don't want Van to trade the guy. He's too valuable.

yeah, there hasn't really been a report on what Van would be asking for and what the market would be. Curious to know what other people think the value is on Garland. TBH, I like the player a lot and hope that Van doesn't move him. I'd be happy to keep him in the Top 6 and to move Rathbone up instead of adding Ty Smith.

I don't see Miller to Minny happening. Boldy or Rossi have to be in there instead of the (2) 2nd's and (1) 3rd. Maybe (2) firsts and Addison get it done but the Nucks will be looking for a top prospect above all else. I know Guerin's not letting go of either of those two and I can't see (2) firsts going either.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delneggs</b></div><div>Except I watch every Ranger game and have for years and years, so probably know the team and organization a tad better than you. Schneider is all of 20 years old and they are already calling him little Trouba, and even Trouba knows that he will be his replacement in 3 years or so when Trouba's NMC expires. So for the next few seasons, Schneider gets to learn from Trouba before replacing Trouba. The Rangers traded UP in the draft to get him and they are not going to trade him at 20 years old to try to improve their chances at a cup this year by 1%. He has EVERYTHING Drury covets in a player including leadership qualities. THAT is called organizational management, so you can keep dreaming all you want about acquiring Schneider, but it's not happening. Lets see what team he is on after that trade deadline. If I'm wrong and he gets traded, I will admit it right here.....will you?</div></div>
If I was a Rangers fan, I'd want to keep him too. Comes down to if Drury thinks this team is ready to win now and values a top 6 guy that can play hard minutes in the playoffs, win faceoffs and can score clutch goals. 20 yo defenseman could become expendable in that case.

Guaranteed, hey? We'll see. I Wouldn't hate a return of Schneider, Chytyl and a first in but the retention on Miller is going to be the interesting part. It would suck to lose another 2.75 mil on the cap next year. Thanks Bobby Lu.

I don't think there's a market for Chaisson or Hunt. Would take both of those trades though, in a heartbeat.
I like the Halak deal. He gets a 3rd I think wherever he goes. He just needs to be willing to waive the NMC.

Can't disagree with you fully on that. Jones stinks and Risto is one of those guys that should be way better than he is but just constantly lets you down.. I was more so playing on the fact that they're UFAs and Dubas needs to move some pieces out to resign Soupy. It likely waits till the offseason but Mrazek needs to be moved.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mergus80</b></div><div>I don’t disagree. I’m thinking about quality vs quantity here. Giroux replaces Compher in the lineup at least for this year, so that’s fine. But then Colorado gives up 4 mid-tier future assets. I don’t question with the value of the package as much as the sheer quantity of assets. At what point would Colorado be better off trading a 1st instead of a 2nd and a 3rd (Shuckers’ draft pick value chart says 2nd+3rd > 1st assuming Colorado is picking in the late 20s) or a better prospect like Barron instead of two prospects a step below.</div></div>
I was debating whether to go a 1st or 2nd and a 3rd. For some reason the first seemed too rich to me given the prospects included for a rental. Interesting note though on the draft pick value chart, I can see that given the 1st would be late in the round.

They may be able to get a 3rd out of Pit for Halak if they retain but I don't think the 5th is necessary.
They need to focus on resigning motte. He's such a valuable player for them would hate to move him and see him sign elsewhere next season.
Let's take whatever we can get for Chaisson, sure.
Unfortunately, I don't think anyone is going to take Poolman off our hands when guys at league min can do the same thing as him.

Fair. Guerin has a plan and sticks to his guns. I agree with the above comment too, the Parise and Suter buyouts are going to cause them issues in the immediate future, skilled young guys on elc's will be key.

The want would be Schneider for sure, but Miller's value is sky high right now and with another year on the deal, he's not just a rental. New York may not be ready to go all in and make this type of a deal right now but I think JT could command this, especially at his AAV.
