This is FOR SURE the make or break year for Logan Brown, but Chlapik and Balcers are no longer waiver exempt. Hopefully they take that into account as well because it would suck to lose them for nothing just for the privilege of having Watson and Galchenyuk on the ice.

Pietrangelo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>franky_22</b></div><div>Honestly I don't think they're going to move a lot. But IMO they need to improve in very specific positions: 1 top six winger (Palmieri will be perfect there, at RW on the 2nd line) 1 bottom 6 winger (Jesper Fast) a Goalie and Defense. And with that scenario in mind, here are the guys who can leave right now IMO: Cole, EJ, Donskoi, Grubauer, Zadorov and Jost.</div></div>
I think you're a little off on the goalie sitch, quick has been getting worse each year so this doesn't help that situation at all. We do need that top 6 winger and palmeri would be a nice fit with kadri and another right shot up front.
I think petro is a pipe dream, we could fit him in around 9 mil but we would need to move multiple pieces to make it happen and i don't know if it's worth it right now.
I'd scrap the LA trade and use zads and jost to get the top 6 winger we need.

Ottawa could use Compher, but so could Colorado. Is this strictly to acquire a 2nd round pick, or are these salary dumps to pay for Pietrangelo?
I'd take the deal, which would solidify Ottawa's middle6 RW, between C.Brown and Compher. Ottawa can make room for Cole by starting either Brannstrom or Zub in the AHL, they are both waivers exempt.

drouin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffW</b></div><div>Its because it was the last time drouin was sought after</div></div>
Its just madness....Avs will trade prime assets for Drouin bc Mack will get him going? His point production is the same in Tampa as it was in Montreal, maybe just maybe this is who he is and he's not some unicorn of a 70-80point player in value if he gets to play with Mack.
He hasn't done a thing to earn that, and people dont realize the reason why that top line works is bc of Landeskog and how good defensively he is covering up for Mack, and even taking draws.
Drouin can not replace that in Landeskog so would never sniff the top line.
Drouin is a 2nd line 50 point player. Carl Sodereberg had 53 points last season. Drouin is not special

I think hughes and Kakko are the only nhl ready players in the draft, alot of them have already committed to NCAA teams

Dach Turcotte and Byram...none of them would see the NHL roster next season. as Jeffw said none outside of Kakko Hughes is on an NHL roster to start. Only guy who probably could have is Pod but hes locked into the KHL next season

Accepting Barrie Offers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>franky_22</b></div><div>AVS should trade EJ now. EJ's clause is: <strong>"Modified NTC - NMC - lists 19 teams he can be trade to" </strong> The NMC basically means that he cannot go to waivers or be demoted to minors. Anytime Sakic can ask him for his list of 19 teams where he would agree to be traded. Maybe they could get a late 1st rounder for EJ. Like the TOR pick from LAK or the STL pick from ANA or the SJS pick from BUF.</div></div>
I’d also be down to trade EJ as soon as possible. He still has value but I’m afraid this is the last year he will.

thats the exact value Avs fans have been proposing. Its wild how ranger fans are acting like Hayes is now some break out 1C after 2 months of good hockey. Hes a rental and want almost half of what Duchene got in a trade with 2 years left on his contract.
Or they want more for Hayes than Blues gave up for ROR. They are goign to be so disappointed at the deadline

I was ready to laugh, but yeah, four first rounders, two this year, might be a top 3 pick....I'd want to wait til after the draft lottery if I'm Edmonton, and before if I'm Colorado, but this is probably it. The Best Option For Edmonton.

I would think Barrie would be added. Even Timmins. But everyone knows that mack and Rant and Makar arent getting traded. If Ottawa's pick is top 2 they get Hughes or Kakko which is a very nice building block and another mid first. They can flip barrie if they desire to get more picks/prospects. Jost is only 20 and so many people are writing him off. He should have never been brought up to the NHL so soon as he wasnt ready
