does not need to be hall but the team needs to significantly upgrade on the left side. Made some good moves in the offseason but missing that piece. Right side seems locked in now with Gally, Caufield & JA

Not sure this is enough. We also should add Norlinder & KK. Maybe a second also to get it as even as possible

That's fair. I think the Habs would really benefit from a big forward who has the potential to score. If i was bergevin i would be willing to go somewhere between $3.5M-3.75 if he signed for atleast 4. Just concerned about the injury history

Fair deal though with a 2nd & mid 4th maybe?

Domi would be a good option. Would require more from the Oilers end though. I do believe domi could be a good fit

you got me there. For that price i would take him. I don't think if he wants $10M then it is worth it.

My 2 season plan for the Habs
I am concerned about trying to sign Hall. Not that I don't think he is a good player but it could end up like Tavares & Duchene. Seemed like a great idea to sign them but you see fast that you are stuck in a long term deal that will really hurt the team shortly after he signs

It is so difficult to predict the value tbh. I feel like there are some teams who can really use Domi so they may overpay. If the habs are going to trade him, I think they need to try and get back an NHL ready prospect. Having Pit's first and legare is ok it just might not make us better immediately

Realistically lemieux is probably worth a 3rd with his style of play. Rangers would be crazy not to take a 2nd but I would understand. Domi could be worth a 1st depending on team needs. Domi can bring a lot playing the right role.

Lol ya sorry was more just looking at the future. Brannstrom, Chabot, Drysdale are all studs & tkachuk, white, byfield/stutzle, batherson are also going to have a great future

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>leafs101</b></div><div>my thoughts exactly. Byfield v stutzle seems like a case of Matthews vs Laine in their first 2 years to me. Stutzle may seem better or on par at times beginning on the wing rather than at center, but you've gotta take the #1 center for the long term, and somewhat for the short term as well, especially considering they don't have one in the pipeline</div></div>
Forsure. I think if its a June draft and Sens get #2 & 3 would be a different story. I assume they would probably still take one forward one dman but maybe not. I think if the draft is not in June it may be more realistic they could get 3 & 4 or 2&4 so could change everything

Just an idea
Overpaying for Hanifin. Strome is coming into his own in NHL so don't need to pay THAT much. Rangers have such a bright future that they may need to start thinking about cap space so maybe try to find a Dman on a good deal and try overpaying for him with all there assets?

Additionally, is Kaprizov even going to sign with Minnesota?</div></div>
That would be my concern if I was MIN so trading him might be a good scenario. He has proven all he can in KHL so I assume coming to the NHL would happen soon. I would think if MTL could get there hands on him maybe he would sign based on Russian success in MTL (Markov, Kovalev & Kovalchuks love for MTL) and Romanov coming over.

Ya the more I look at it and it seems like Dumba is not a good idea. Forgot about the whole RHD thing. Kaprizov seems like a good risk but I am not sure how high MIN fans are on him.
