Best 1st line in the entire history of the NHL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Alex_Hancock</b></div><div>Name a better line. (You can't)
The money is ridiculous but it would be a great line. In reality Tavares will likely go to MTL or re-sign in NYI.</div></div>
Gretzky , Kurri, Messier - there better line Named.

Unfortunately, I think the dollar values on the Granlund and Baertschi are wishful thinking they will be looking for 3.5/ year each at least

Win Win with Edmonton

Was it not Hanzal nearly 7 months ago that was traded for a mid 1st and 2nd as rental? Here's the difference Nuge is signed long term. So how is this value far off to reality? Cole valued at a 2nd rounder while Hagelin is in the same range as a 3rd rounder while Nuge who is younger is probably worth a 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd easily.</div></div>
Did you actually say that Ryan Nugent Hopkins is worth a 1, 2 and 3 round draft pick? the term of his contract doesnt add value, it takes away.

Trade with Montreal
Top pair D and a prospect are a bit much to give up for a 3rd line center, Canucks already have multiple guys who can fill that role better.

New AGGRESSIVE GM
People keep saying the Sedins need to be traded for the rebuild, but no one mentions that 1) you need to find someone who can/will take them and 2) They need to waive NTC, which they have already said they will not do.

Edmonton Oilers signed Leon Draisaitl (8 Years / $8,500,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>phillyjabroni</b></div><div>
then you ruin GM relations. how many trades have PHI and NSH made since the Weber OS?</div></div>
How many trades did they make before? Philly GM has changed since then as well. Who cares about relations with your competitors? If an offer sheet is good for your team, then GM's should use them., If the money vs. picks doesn't make sense, then don't do it. It worked for San Jose years ago, the signed Hjalmarson to an offer sheet, that Chicago matched, then San Jose was able to steel Niemi, because Chicago couldn't afford both. Niemi was a solid goalie, coming off a Stanley Cup win at the time.

Free draft picks available Benning!!
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Doug7004</b></div><div>You're (Vancouver) 2 years away from step one. Can't go and sign some of these cheap vets and turn them into draft picks until you tear down your own roster. Vancouver goes into this season with their current line up and while they won't make the playoffs, they won't be a top 5 lottery pick either. If they are serious about a rebuild and want to eventually follow your step by step directions they have a tear down to do. Trading for anything other than picks and prospects (ie: your Edler/Gallagher trade) will only delay the process. Edler, Tanev, Sedin's, Erickson should be moved and moved quickly. (None will be around when Van. becomes a contender again) Building on the fly is an equation that hasn't worked in the past and coming into next years draft there are loads of teams that see the #1 overall pick in their sights.</div></div>
People keep saying that the Sedins and Erickson need to be moved, but seem to forget, you need to find someone to take them.

Question: If Vancouver drafts Dahlin do they still need to tank?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>You know even a last place team has only a 30% of getting first pick. Canucks would have to be absolutely dreadful to beat out Las Vegas for last overall. And the Avs are serious contenders too. Anyway the Canucks don't have to try to tank, it's going come natural this season.</div></div>
I think Canucks fans are well aware of how the lottery works thanks to the last 2 years. And Even if they Draft Dahli9n, he is not a generational player, probably wont even be in the NHL right away.

Wouldnt be a big deal as this would be the last year of Sedin deal, or possibly take lower round picks
