since when is a consistent 20+ goal scorer who is very reliable in his own zone a 3rd line player? would love to see how many of those there are in the league
Hellebuyck just got 8.5m a year. Swayman isn't as good, doesn't have the track record, and is an RFA. He's not getting 8+. He'll get a shade over 7m max

This Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruins_Guy613</b></div><div>Ullmarks and goalies value in general will likely go down in the offseason due to more of them being available again. if Calgary or Nashville make their respective goalies available Ullmark won't be valued at a 1st and Dawson Mercer in this example. he may be worth some 2024 picks and would need to find someone with them available thats not on his NTC list.</div></div>
I agree that the original deal was not realistic. From my perspective, the number of good teams with bad goaltending that has impacted them is higher than ever. Boston has the cap position to keep Ullmark through the end of his FA tenure fairly easily. He’s likely to be more of an impact to the Bruins than any second round pick if teams try to low ball.
People need to stop acting like Chase Stillman has any value whatsoever. Don’t care he was a reach as a first rounder. He’s likely not worth a fourth rounder in terms of relative value right now.

I don't know what's worse, the trades or the fact that you put McDavid and Draisaitl on the second line.

It's a complete joke of a trade.</div></div>
No value to the oilers eh? Well, if he played down to the oilers culture, he would be the third best d man. That’s kind of a worst case scenario. I’m going to stick with you having some mild name recognition, but not knowing who the players are.
Cheers.

Leafs 2020-2021
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>j_cash08</b></div><div>IMO Marner + 2nd would for Rackell + Manson + Deslaurier would get it done. IMO Marner has to be value as a top 10 RW in the league that is still only 22 years old. Marner makes the ducks a better team Manson + Rackell makes the Leafs a better team fair trade overall IMO.
Liljegren will be 21 in 28 days. Go to bed out of it. The only reason he would be a NHL defenseman is because the Leafs defense is horrible.
Moral of the story, the leafs will need to trade one of the big 3 10M + players they have eventually. With the salary cap in place teams cannot compete with 3 10M+ pieces in their lineup. 30M devoted to 3 players is unreasonable, especially when neither of them is your most important player. Just like the Blackhawks with Buff, Leddy, Ladd, ect. they moved on and replaced with assets and 'Lesser' places to stay deep and competitive through their 3 cups. and notice when they gave Toews and Kane 10.5M they dropped out of contention.</div></div>
I'd rather remove the 2nd and add Liljegren in then balance accordingly for that potential deal, very interesting concept to be sure
Agree with you on Liljegren, not every Dman can be Cale Makar/Quinn Hughes, some take time and are still very solid players. I feel Marner makes the most sense to move of the big contracts, Tavares just got the C and a franchise like TOR doesn't give a guy the C if he isnt in the long term plans, and Matthews is Matthews. In my eyes Nylander is proving to be worth every penny he got if not more (not sure of the sentiment in Leaf Land though)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vr1995</b></div><div>i truly do understand what you are saying, but this isnt the way to do it, this is panic button which we should not be at that stage when 3 of those 4 forwards havent even entered the prime of their careers yet. how many losses of the leafs this year can you truthfully say they played their hardest and just couldnt get the job done? people will try to blame dubas, theyll try to blame hutch/ lack of grit, etc but they stay away from the fact that this team just flat out didnt show up to play on most nights. and lets face it, people ignore the fact that fred was a roller coaster this year and has let in some goals that cant be let in but he also saves our ass alot, i know every team is gooing to have off nights but when you have the talent they do you cant be having waaaaay more off nights than on nights.this team has showed how good they can be when they are on but consistency is the number 1 thing and they need to find that. that rhd is the area of need and that should be the main focus this summer but this team has showed how solid they be even with that d core. they need to show up</div></div>
I disagree. That D core is garbage on the right side. It needs to change. (In a big way). Trading from a position of strength to address a position of weakness is the way to go IMO. There is no panic here at all.

But IMO the value of Kerfoot, Dermott and a 2nd would easily get that deal done. If they don't want that because of their RHD situation maybe it will take Liljegren but I think the value is there with Dermott Kerfoot and a 3rd/4th for Manson</div></div>
I hear ya...and as a Leaf fan I agree...but when I make a trade I also try to factor in the other team and if they would have any need for what we were sending....if Manson played left i'd say yes for sure cause they'd be getting a younger and cheaper D along with a 3C or a LW like Kerfoot is playing for Leafs....but again I based it on what the "experts" on tv and radio said saying Murray did not wanna shop....and sometimes for players like that ya have to pay more

I agree <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>j_cash08</b></div><div>if you're going to trade Dermott and Kerfoot I feel like one of them could be used in the Manson Trade.
Nylander will cost more than that he's doing much better in Chicago and has a lot more up upside than Engvall.</div></div>
I agree one of Dermott or Kerfoot should/may have to be sent to Ducks for Manson.....I said that in my description.....the reason I did not do it as part of the trade was because I did not know if I would be able to fit them in someone or if they could be used as part of another trade...….The Nylander deal was made simply to shed a bit of cap from Engvall….who has not really produced since he got the new contract.....I am no expert on what Nylander is doing or worth but fans seem to think it would be fun to have the brothers together here...he's been traded twice already....I think him and Engvall are close with Engvall being bigger....perhaps a pick is included or again if Kerfoot is send to Ducks then Dermott gets sent to Hawks with Engvall

Talking about the Bruins and Cap 'angst' at US$2.75M (for 3yrs really as this one is in the books or US$8.25Mil total) is the biggest joke one can read on these boards during the PAUSE (period)!!
The team core > > > > Bergy-Marchand-Pasta-Krejci-Coyle-Mac-Carlo-Rask are all locked in at less than US$7.25Mil/per...there is NO team w/ 100pts, or anywhere near that mark, to have that lofty a money-situation.
Furthermore, Moore can be waived as quick-as-dirt (sorry Mrs Moore) and he is very much exp-draft eligible. Even the 'Kraken' know they will need experienced NHL guys and those making enough quid $$ to help them get to the Cap-floor...

Where as Pietrangelo, has Faulk, Parayko, Dunn, Boumester(Before injury) as does Hamilton With Slavin, Pecese, Van Reisdyke, Fleury.
And it is mind Bogoling how well Nashville develops defenseman... Josi, Ellis, Jones, Weber, Ekholm, Fabbro! crazy</div></div>
You’re undervaluing Savard, Nuttivaara, Murray(when healthy) and Gavrikov. As I don’t think that are as good as STL or CAR. They are good... So I don’t think Werenski and Jones carry as much as you think but they do carry the offense more then the other teams do. Ad for the goaltending you could argue CAR and CBJ are close with Korpisalo and Merzlinkins vs Reimer and Mark.
Nashville also developed Suter before he left for Minnesota.

As much as I love McAvoy I don't agree with putting him there, over Weber, players them selves say Weber is the hardest to play against in the league. As for Hughes, Provorov, Werenski and Sutter I think they are all very equal and the argument could be made for either of them to be there</div></div>
We could go back and fourth on the Jone vs Pietranglo, but by what your saying with the d cores around them Jones and Werenski skate together most of the time. Pietranglo skates with Dunn or someone else?
Weber is a beast, I think i just go with younger players personally. Same goes with Suter. Think, 7 years ago, Suter, Weber, Jones, Josi, Ellis and Ekholm were all on the same team in Nashville....

Yeah i mean these players have the leverage imo, they will push for term way more than just money nowadays. Tyler Myers got a longterm contract and that will also look bad in a few years
