Kane @ 50% for 2nd 2024, Kerfoot, Abruzzese (Don't kid yourself into thinking he will cost much if he wants to go to Toronto)
Lafferty for 3rd 2025 and Kral.
Prospects could be swapped for anyone not named Knies, Minten and Niemela.
But sure, go off hon

He's only a year and a half younger than Campbell, he's been aggressively mediocre the past 3 seasons, and he's signed for 5 more years at $6.4M. I feel like they could easily get Campbell back in the fold for less money & less term (I think the Robin Lehner 4x$5M deal would be the sweet spot) and get equal or better results *without* moving out a guy like Willie Nylander and opening up a hole in your top 6.</div></div>
I don't disagree at all. My choice would be to re-sign Campbell but it appears there hasn't been any contract talks.
I don't see any better UFA options and bringing in someone like Gibson will mean moving money out and giving good assets. If we trade Nylander elsewhere, we're likely using aquired assets to bring in Gibson anyways 🤷

Blatant homer? Leafs give up the best player in the Anaheim trade and I've stated they could leave out Comtois.
I've seen Blues trades where they've dropped Barbashev for Woo and a 2nd. Surely Sandin and a small add tops that package.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>I think Toronto adds something like a 2nd rounder to the Anaheim deal to get it done; Nylander > Gibson in value but Comtois >>>> Mrazek.
I also don't know if Gibson is the goalie you'd want to make a big splash like that for - the last 3 seasons he's put up a .904 SV%/3.07 GAA/-19.2 GSAA in Anaheim. For reference, Jack Campbell has put up a .913/2.57/13.2 GSAA in the same time frame. The biggest advantage Gibson has over Campbell is being a workhorse (142 GS for Gibson vs. 95 for Campbell in that time) but if he's not even putting up league average numbers, he's just giving you a ton of mediocrity.
If you're moving Nylander, I think you target something else; I still say the best move in goalie is keeping Jack Campbell.</div></div>
Fair enough. Maybe altering it to leave Comtois out and targeting somebody else in free agency to fill the spot.
I do believe that the Leags are very high on Gibson fwiw.

As for the Kings trade, that's fair. If you had any sort of reading comprehension, you would see that I also suggested Ethan Bear.

So many Leaf fans (and they aren't unique) are so afraid to trade the logical big cap players because they hate to lose "stars". But somehow they can keep the team together despite the fact the cap rose just 1m, Reilly gets a 2.5m raise, Campbell made 1.6m last season, him or his replacement is gonna to make a lot more.</div></div>
Just took a look at your most recent ACGM and gooood lord. Imagine using an 80 point winger to unload Mrazek and getting back a 2nd round pick. We are bleesed to have Dubas as GM and not someone like you.

And I hope the Leafs don’t resign Vesey next year. I would love for the Pens to sign him!! Or love for the Pens to outbid the 2M for Blake Coleman. I think he’s gonna get closer to 2.8M-3.5M, IMO. Something like 9M-10.5M total for 3 years.</div></div>

But, let's toss him away and sign a 30 yo to twice as much $$ to play 3rd pair minutes!!
Not commenting on the trades, but it makes much more sense in your scenario to keep Dermott to play 3rd pair with Sandin.</div></div>

It's not so much as that Andersen played poorly, it's that the Leafs have lost 4 playoff series straight with him in net. He only has 1 year left on his contract and like someone has already said, he'll be looking to get paid. IMO, it's better to acquire assets for him now and bring in someone like Murray rather than lose him for nothing in free agency.
