So many Leaf fans (and they aren't unique) are so afraid to trade the logical big cap players because they hate to lose "stars". But somehow they can keep the team together despite the fact the cap rose just 1m, Reilly gets a 2.5m raise, Campbell made 1.6m last season, him or his replacement is gonna to make a lot more.

I don't think you necessarily *have* to trade Nylander (I'm assuming that's who you're talking about...). I just think it's funny that so many people neglect full NTC's, try to justify why the player would agree to move ("well we don't want him anymore!"), and then turn around and underpay UFA's that they probably hadn't seen before this years playoffs (Ie. Copp).

Just took a look at your most recent ACGM and gooood lord. Imagine using an 80 point winger to unload Mrazek and getting back a 2nd round pick. We are bleesed to have Dubas as GM and not someone like you.

I'd be surprised if any team pays a second for Muzzin or a third for Holl, who is a rental bottom-pairing defenseman.

If Nylander we'll see what he brings. If the Leafs trade him for cap space in order to sign good NHL goalie.....well can you name a good team that take on his full cap without sending cap to the Leafs/\
And teams with cap to obtain Nylander can do just as well in free agency. And certainly a non playoff team isn't risking a first rounder for two years of Nylander.
Nylander and Mrzarek whose total cap is 10.8m may not even net a 2nd rounder. Imagine what a team could do with 10.8m cap....sign Gaudreau and be better off instead of two years of Nylander and cap .
