That actually isn’t the worst trade proposal. Not sure if Hutton is a fit in Winnipeg but idea isn’t too shabby to be honest

I was thinking a trade just like this for nylander. This works for both teams and is equal trade value giving both teams what they need. 5 stars good trade!

hes worth a late 1st for sure, Tanev is on a bad team, in 2015 when they made the playoffs tanev was the best dmam on the team, the canucks just suck right now and everyones stats are taking a beating from it

To trade him at a 3M cap hit, the Caps retain 2.5M, which is the same cap hit he'd leave if they bought him out. I guess then they get a 3rd round pick, so it's better than nothing, but I also think, given that he's publicly been assigned to spend a year mentoring each of John Carlson and Nate Schmidt on how to play defense, that most teams with lots of cap space would be lucky to have him around to mentor their young defensemen. For anyone living under a rock, Carlson and Schmidt led the Caps and Golden Knights in ice time this year, which is impressive because those teams won their divisions and then made the Stanley Cup Finals (but I won't spoil how that one ends for you).
Yeah, that could happen, but the Caps end up spending more money to retain 2.5M than they would to just buy him out, and getting no cap relief, so the return would have to be excellent. But I think at a cap hit of 3M, coming off his 2nd Cup win and his 6th straight trip to the 2nd round or more, he could even get a 2nd, like Emelin or Methot. Or just be packaged with Grubauer to get back a really talented, young defenseman who had as many hits last year. Not that any are particularly available with that kind of toughness/durability, and any offense to speak of. http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?report=realtime&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20172018&gameType=2&position=D&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=hits
If there's a chance of getting Hagg, Ristolainen, or Zadorov, fantastic. Otherwise, why not just keep Orpik, who hits an opponent every period, and makes it harder for guys to set up shop in front of the net. And yeah, I know, if it's Risto or Zadorov, they also have to throw in Connolly, and a 2nd, and even then, who knows.

Whatever anyone posts on here, five Ottawa fans will chime in that it isn't enough. I think they just really want him to stay, and between the rough year they've had and the rough year he's had, I've decided it's not worth proposing EK trades on here. He's such a dominant offensive defenseman when he's at 100%. it's really hard to predict a fair trade for him while he's finishing healing from an injury.

Five stars for getting a realistic 3rd round pick back for Orpik, even if Edmonton isn't necessarily the most likely landing spot.
I'm fine with getting EK for Bowey, a 1st, and a 2nd. He'll end up getting more salary than John Carlson, with whom the Caps just won the Stanley Cup, and who outscored him in the regular season. EK has more career points, but had some kind of injury that affected his skating most of the season, plus tragic personal problems. I think the Caps are fine with who they've got, and with a power play that's worked well together with the same top unit for three years.
That consistency has been a strenghth, and I'd rather they sign Carlson at 8M per year coming off a career year he may never equal than end up extending Karlsson at 10M before seeing if his skating is back close to 100%, and risk ending up with a huge defensive liability.

MacKinnon Value? Or keep the draft pick?
My thought would be start afresh. That pick likely in the top five. And MacKinnon has not proved that successful being on a bad team. Next season, started spending a little of money wisely available on UFA (s). Maybe the following year spend some more.

Sutter wasn't a good fit the first time around but might work out with the new system. A first round pick instead of the third might get it done.

Team of Westeros (Game Of Thrones)
First off how do you have Theon on your top D pairing, most inconsistent guy on the team he is going to let you down over and over and over. He is a 7-8 D on my team and I would replace him with Sir Jorah cause he will sacrifice everything for the win. Next up is Brandon Stark, what a useless guy he is down in the AHL for me and I would have Lady Brienne on that line. Other than those 2 I think you are spot on

Team of Westeros (Game Of Thrones)
First line, gotta move Tyrion to center but an awesome first line, some great young firepower on the wings!
Second line, deadly...but dirty! Gotta keep an eye on Jamie's production though, kinda feel like he isn't what he used to be.
Third line, would move Brandon to center, 3 eyes has to give him great vision and play making potential. That Ayra, she's a real killer!!
Fourth line, smart and crafty, but soft! Sir Davos is doing all the heavy lifting on this line.
I really have to question your misuse of Lady Brienne...totally top pair shut down D!!! Did you see her fight a couple of seasons ago? Tough as nails! Gotta swap her and Theon, he is a serious liability! And Yara....brave, but in the big spot she kinda dropped the ball.
Second pair is super solid, scary even, but a little slow...I saw Gregor get exposed...once! Sandor is a tough SOB, he plays through injuries!
Grey Worm, super smooth, don't underestimate his size, sleeper on the third pair, maybe pair up with Brienne for a real lethal top pair!
Based on your format, Sir Bronn more of a dman no?
Awesome team!

five stars just to make the team
for the offense , first , i put bradon as centre for his vision , arya on the wing would be deadly in the corner ,second, i put ser bronn of the black water and Gendry in lord varys and little finger spot and they still can play there game from the side line in the dark like usual. Bronn and Gendry are more the kind of guy who do the hard laber .
in defense
first i saw the greyjoy in first pairing as a wickness . But after good thought that's to sacrifise them and hit hard with the second pairing . in war usualy you lose at least your first line of defense and theon is realy not a great lost . we lose Yara too because she try to save him .
if it's not to sacrifise them i don't see them as first paire of defense maybe 7-8 as back up just in case but don't realy cont on them .
i see more
greyworm -Jorah Mormont ( fast , strong ,smart , can defend and attack , good in all situation )
the hound- the mountain (slow but deadly , you don't go in front of the net with those guys smashing your skull )
Tormund - lady Brienne ( always ready to do their duty )
