(SEA/COL) - MacDermid for 2023 4th
So there was really nobody from LA that they thought could be more valuable than a 4th?
Edit: Also this trade is an L for Colorado because MacDermid is an absolutely horrendous hockey player.

Defence isn't Dallas's problem. Think they just wait till summer of 2022 and just might sign Jones as a UFA, instead of trading cheap assets for him this season.

Disregarding the cap for a second, I don’t see Columbus going for a pick swap and Dellandrea. Take Toronto’s 1st out of the deal & you’re getting closer, but Dallas probably still needs to add a little value in order to make the trade work for both sides.

Refuelling the Jets
Wheeler is not the type of player LA is looking to add. The Kings just finished dumping their high-priced veterans in their 30s, they're not going to add another, especially considering NMCs follow players after trades. He might not be negative value now, but it's very unlikely he's still worth his cap hit at age 38.

21-22 Opening Roster
I agree with almost everything here, with the exception that Blake and Todd indicated they wanted better forechecking so I think Hyman or Schwartz in lieu of Hoffman, and using remaining space for an experienced top-line LD like Ryan Murray or Alex Edler. Lias and Vilardi looked good together, but maybe Frk can work his way back in.

I just think he might be the best valued asset among those that the Kings might be willing to part with. I can’t see them giving up Kaliyev, and having Byfield makes Turcotte expendable, as much as I’d rather keep him</div></div>
I mean they could take a pass at Hyman, Hall, RNH, or Palmeri and give up nothing and get goal scoring so we can see if Turcotte can adapt to wing.

Don't listen to Doughty and mess up a solid rebuild LA has got going. Not to mention, this year aside, his performance is one of the biggest reasons (not the only reason, of course, but a big reason) they've been bad the last three years. If he wants the team to be better, he could start by being worth eleven million dollars for them.

He is a player getting better and better every year. He is close to a thirty goals scorer and plays now a very good two way game. I don't think it is worth making a counter offer because he is not on the trade offer.

Something tells me Doughty doesn't seem to understand what a rebuild is. Just wait for the young guys and he could still get another cup by the end of his career.

(NYR/LAK) - Lemieux for 2021 4th round pick
One team got a serviceable NHL player at a good cap hit and who will still be under team control as an RFA at the end of his contract.
The other team got a draft pick that does not have great odds of turning into an NHL player.
One team will use said serviceable player to compete for a playoff spot starting today.
The other team won't be able to use said draft pick until the draft actually happens and that draft pick might not be an actual NHL player for at least a few years.
One team got a better hockey player than an average 4th round pick.
The other team got just that, a 4th round pick.
On the question of "Who won the trade?"...
I voted for the Los Angeles Kings.
Like if you did too :D

The Eichel Ransom Part One
I highly doubt Vegas looks to move Theodore at all. Moving him makes them incredibly thin at LD. I also don't think Tuch would be moved for Eichel. Not that Buffalo wouldn't be interested in him, but Tuch and Eichel played on a line in college and it sky rocketed Tuch play and value. I could see Vegas reuniting the 2 of them on a line to try to get the best of Tuch's low contract value.
I think a deal likely starts with Cody Glass (not negotiable), then likely includes Fleury for cap reasons, then go where you want with it. Likely at least a couple 1st round picks if Buffalo is rebuilding, then it really depends where Buffalo sees their main organizational weakness at. But I think younger, less proven guys are their target, not guys like Tuch or Theodore.

That's actually way more than I expected Andersson to go for. Let's see if a change of scenery helps!

Low second round pick for a former 7th overall pick. Nice value for a Kings team that has room for a young forward or two in the lineup.

Win-win. We get a pick for someone who probably wasn't a part of our future. LA get a player with a lot of potential.

I think the jets have to do that. Laine has never totally worked and there has been noise the last several years. To get the 2nd pick and other assets is probably the best offer they will get

Max Domi value
I think it’s good for all parties. They get another centreman who could be the third line guy behind KK and Nick Suzuki once Phillip Danault leaves Montreal. They get a good enough LHD, something the Habs need but would likely be filled by the arrival of Joel Edmundson and Alex Romanov. As for the pick, they could get someone good here.

So greene gets a second but Martinez gets two seconds, might as well make the New Jersey interim GM permanent because he pulled off the two best trades of the trade market so far.
