Markstrom to Edm
I don't think Calgary does this. They won't want to face Markstrom for the next 2 years, they also won't want to retain for the rival. Same goes for Edm won't want to face young prospects on the Flames side. I could see a 3rd team involved though.

Can Oilers Get The Price Right
edmonton gave up nothing and we still lose this trade
A 34 year old goalie who is not only inconsistent but also injury prone and hasn't played in a year who is being paid 10.5 million dollars over the next 4 years when in that time we have to resign
Draistial,Hollaway,Bouchard,Broberg and more...
We don't even know if this dude is gonna play again nevermind play good which he most likely won't given he is 34 and coming off a major injury and hasn't played in a year
Trading for carey price is what will put the nail in the coffin for mcdavids chances to get a cup in Edmonton

Block buster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ksporer</b></div><div>HAHA, sign me up!
But Ducks vehemently say no. Bob Stauffer has alluded before that it would take <strong>"Five significant pieces" to land Gibson. is (Yammo, Broberg, Bourgault, a 1st, and a 2nd?)</strong>
And thats without Anaheim taking back Kassian and Koskinen.</div></div>
Even that would be turned down, Gibson wont be traded in-division if hes moved at all

TDL Moves
Ironically we cant give you a 2nd this season because the 3rd we gave you for Keith is a conditional that can turn into that 2nd. 😂 But yeah this trade is doable for us.
Doubt Fleury wants to go anywhere in Canada though..

Which Goalie is gonna Work
I know there's a lot of talk about Varlamov not wanting to waive for a trip to Edmonton, but I also think you might be able to convince him to go by playing to his ego a little bit. He's clearly the #2 on the Island now, no more 1A/1B with Sorokin. If you feel like Sorokin is ready to move on from his security blanket (remember, part of the reason to let Lehner walk & sign Varlamov was the Russian connection with Sorokin), you can try to convince Varly that he'll be a starter on a playoff contender and then get the chance to be a goalie mentor to Skinner next year, something that might enhance his late career value when he goes UFA after 2022-23.
Isles can take back Mike Smith if the pick/prospect part of the deal is sweet enough, and just plug him in as Sorokin's backup next year instead of signing a UFA guy this summer. Like you said, lots of moving parts, but I'd say it's not completely out of the realm of possibility.

Being realistic let’s narrow the list by
1- remove anyone with clauses that has only played in the states history unfortunately strongly suggests those are in place to prevent a move to Canadian city.
2- remove anyone with term because let’s face it smith is here till his deal expires and skinner must be on the team next year.
3- remove anyone that is unlikely to be moved because playing a big role for playoff team looking at husso there.
When go threw this process think it becomes clear the pool is much shallower than most suggest when saying oilers need to do something in net. There isn’t any clear “upgrade” I’d say smith and skinner provides the most realistic and best tandem down the stretch if kosk gets moved to facilitate a trade to bolster the d or depth scoring.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Davidson</b></div><div>MAF wants to play another year in the league, if EDM trades for him I have to think that second year is something they target.</div></div>
MAF has publicly stated that he wants to A.) play for a contending team and B.) extend to which ever team he gets traded to (also open to CHI extension) because he doesn't want to move his family. So, he most certainly WON'T entertain a rental. He's going to want to extend in EDM if he gets traded there. WHICH, imo is the best option because that will help develop Skinner over time rather than tossing him into the fire.
