LW Looking Nicer
5 straight: every year since we drafted Matthews:
WSH (lost in 6)
BOS (lost in 7)
BOS (lost in 7)
CBJ (lost in 5)
MTL (horrifying collapse in 7)

Yup, until they win they deserve all these comments. We made Playoffs 5 straight years which is awesome, but 5 straight Series losses is brutal.

Top 6 LW Lacking
Absolutely yes, be patient. Just handing over a snapshot of where our Roster is at present moment. I'm not sure if this is a bring Galchenyuk in and hope between him, Bunting, Robertson that one of them sticks for the season...or it's a bring Kampf in as a true C, to either move Kerfoot up the lineup at LW or trade Kerfoot for LW help or cap relief that results in LW help?

Opening Night Roster Hyman Dermott Injured
I hear you, and understand what you mean, I don't trust Marincin and Holl either and I think that's why we will limit the Sandin/Liljegren minutes to the bottom pairing - easing them into the NHL now that we have a legit top 4 that can play big minutes. The year after, both Sandin/Liljegren are going to have to play in our top 4 so we need them to get a real taste of the NHL this year.

Yes they are LTIR eligible, both of them. They both will be out for the minimum requirement, the work to do will actually be to put 1 or 2 players on Waivers to fit Hyman's contract back in when he is healthy. Dermott's contract will be easy to move back in by demoting a D to the AHL upon his return.

Ceci to Arbitration THREAD
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CapFriendlysFinest</b></div><div>The issue is Ceci isnt worth it and we all know it.
I am really not sure how ARB works that well either</div></div>
Long story short, Leafs can walk away from his ARB award and let him become a UFA.

Wait a dern minute
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeygoalie53</b></div><div>You're not getting Marner or Gardiner for those AAV's, and not at that term for Marner. Rumors suggest Ceci has already verbally agreed to a 1yr 4.5m deal and also suggest Kerfoot will file for ARB and cost about 3.5m on a 1 year deal.
Those numbers leave the Leafs with about 3m in CAP space before Horton goes on LTIR, which then only leaves 8.4m, approximately... meaning, no space for Marner unless someone else is moved out.</div></div>
Ceci is not signed, if he goes to ARB we have the option to walk from his award, which can be now lower than 3.7M (15% lower than last season's salary).

Ceci to Arbitration THREAD
This makes no sense. If Ceci goes to ARB, bare minimum he can be awarded is 3.7M (15% reduction from last season's salary).

Sure...in this exercise my plan was to run the "worst-case" numbers to provide a framework. This would not be a prediction.

Leafs Realistic 2019-20
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Oiler3535</b></div><div>If get rid of Zaitzev this is fine. Cap likely 83, and Marner getting at least 10 especially at 8 years. But as both a leaf and Oiler fan I like the Larson Trade. Would prefer Johnsson to Kapanen in there but boy would Kapanen look good with Mcjesus.</div></div>
I understand that moving Zaitsev and his 4.5M is attractive, but really he is a useful RHD that we need, and filling that hole will be tough too. Exciting that Liljegren and Sandin will be a year closer to the NHL too!

Leafs Realistic 2019-20
I really wish I could've found a way to shed Marleau's 6.25M, but I think the Leafs have too much respect for him and his career to not honor his final contract year in full. A big bag of cash and a Retirement Party would sure be nice though!

Bingo. Although, nobody really knows where the Cap will be set. It went up 4.5M last year, so I applied the same logic this year just to keep it as simple as possible.
