Savard got traded for a first last year, why not Petry ? Plus Colombus is not that strong on the right side

why would you decline that trade when washington has a 15% pp ? I mean you're not giving up that much

I agree that we'd be better with Dreiger as backup then w/ Primeau, however, playing Primeau at backup allow us to save money and spend it up front

the thing is he's a righty, with Drouin and Tatar gone, we NEED a good lefty LW. We can't just have righty LWs

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRafiki</b></div><div>Habs are seriously weak at the 3-4 winger spots. Lehkonen is awesome and Byron is pretty great for the 50 games he's able to play. Weal is very mediocre. Habs traded away Thompson and Cousins and will let Wiese walk. Assume KK or Danault is the #3C and Evans comes in at 4C. That leaves 2 wingers and 2 more "spares" for the 23-man roster. Who's in Poehling? Belzile? Habs DESPERATELY NEED another Armia or two.</div></div>
Danault will want to play with gally and tatar next year, he said he didn't like his role during the playoffs that's why I didn't touch that line. Now it brings us to KK on the 3rd, with what he brought us in the playoffs, I think it's time to give KK some good wingers. I don't want KK to play with defensive minded players like Byron and lekhonen, I like them a lot but I don't think that's what's best for him. Plus, with our trio of center, I think it's a great opportunity to exploit a strategy with 3 pretty good lines offensive oriented and not 2 good lines plus kk playing a defensive style. Although, the only risk would be that our depth is not looking pretty good on the third and fourth line

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRafiki</b></div><div>Pretty sure the Kings won't jump at that deal, even if Alzner weren't part of it.
I think Mete would likely fetch you more than a lousy 3rd pick, which has about a 25% chance of ever becoming a solid NHLer (200+ games). Mete is 22 and already has 171 NHL games to his name. Habs might suddenly have an abundance of LD, but trade him for a burly 3rd or 4th line winger who can fill a need.</div></div>
I don't think it's worth it to trade Mete for a third or fourth liner, we already have enough of that and I'm comfortable with byron and lekhonen on the fourth, I'd rather trade Mete for a 4th round pîck if I have to. It's not really worth it but the goal is to clear a bit of cap space, on top of that we have so many LD that do the same things he does.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsForEver</b></div><div>Montreal rejects all of these. They aren't going to acquire a 28 YO winger for a bunch of futures.</div></div>
I'm from montreal and as much as I love Primeau and Brook, I don't think they have a future in Montreal because of the players we already have at those positions. First even if he's getting older Weber still has a lot of hockey in him and is playing really good, Petry is still 31 years old and played great last 2 seasons and I don't see the Canadiens trading Price, bergevin believes in Price, even if he's not playing like it right now, he's still great. as for the other trades, when Romanov comes, chiarot goes on the third pairing and we won't need kulak and reilly anymore.

Indeed, that's why I mentioned trade & sign, otherwise I'd take out the 2nd round and either one of brook or primeau

sorry guys, it was the only way to have tavares on the team, I’m thinking a 10,5 millions $ contract for tavares for at least 5 years and for the pacioretty trade, that’s why I added a 2nd round pick, even though pac is a rental for this year, he still has a value
