Pietrangelo captained a team to a championship before getting his extension. He's been an all-star 3 times. A Norris candidate for the last 10 years. Dougie Hamilton is not getting 8.8 million dollars. At max, he gets 7.5.

I don't think you understand that Hamilton will get a deal that's very similar to Torey Krug's, if not less. Torey Krug signed, last off-season for 6.5 mill over 7 years.</div></div>

Before this season…. you guys were all talking like he was a top5 defenseman in the league
What happened?</div></div>
He's on the last year of his contract, if I could replace his cap with hamilton and get assets back for him I would 100% do it, rather than losing him at the end of next season. Morgan Reilly has also been here since the very first collapse. On top of that, the powerplay has been a disaster and Hamilton is amazing at that.

Well, you see Hamilton doesn't have to re-sign in Carolina if he doesn't want to.

Finishing Touch
okay here's what I was thinking. So Kerfoot slides to 2nd line center on the wings playing with Fabbri and Ryan then you let Filpulla run the 3rd and Neilsen run the 4th. In a few year Yzerman can flip Kerfoot for up to a second at the deadline. Makes them a better defensive team, Not a bad contract and a you really giving up any assets that you see this team using in the next 2 year ? I think it would be good asset management for both teams. Also I meant to add only 1 of Svechnikov or Hirose

What I Would Do
The only thing that scares me about Dumba is that he can be Compared to Barrie in some way and idk if we want to run that again while trading Liljegren. Weegar is more of what we need for a lower cost

You realize that it would take so much more then that for tampa to agree to a stamkos trade. You’re looking at Cozens, 2 First and a roster player for him

So you trade a 4th line center with term to a cup contender and get back the 31st pick and you wouldn’t trade that pick for 2 guys that can play in you’re middle 6 power play and PK and both have term.

Nashville obviously say yes to remove that contract his key for then. Toronto need cap room and trading those 2 for future prices is okay, if vegas want to make the finals they need to get rhd and severson is on a plater for them and vancouver wont resign him so its just to keep a 3rd round pick

we have to many "McNabb types" in the system already - no need for another.
only thing that's good coming back in the VG trade is the first. As MTL I wouldn't go anywhere near that trade.
same thing with Granlund - we have plenty of his type - if you're going to go that route then bring back Thompson as a mentor for Evans.
and again same with Schultz, - we have this in our system - why trade for mediocrity?????</div></div>
