Short term and long term adjustments
Hey give us one of your top prospects for these two middle six guys we don’t want so we can free up some cap space 🙄

Don't see Dallas trading away Stankoven. I don't hate Garland, but he's a 3rd line player for the Stars. Stankoven and Bourque are both untouchable for Dallas. With the Stars signing Hintz to his big contract, they're going to guys like Stankoven who can contribute while he's still on his ELC.

i dont really think we need to be active in free agency
I think that's a pretty accurate statement.
Also, the only FA we could get would be depth players since we will not have the Cap space to get the big fish. And, we don't need depth players. We need to give space for the youth, especially on the forward side of things.
But, we do need to make space for Harley on the left side of our D. Buying out Suter would give us that.

To be honest, I believe you're right, the Stars have every piece they need to be and stay as a playoff contending team, but if they could create cap space and add pieces to become better defensively or add pieces to become better Offensively, that would just be adding to what's already more than good enough...
I've tried making ACGM's with Dallas, but adding players just made things confusing on what to do with what's already there, lol

Josh Anderson is an over paid 35 point forward with too much term remaining. Until he shows he can produce more, Montreal won’t be getting positive value for him

Dallas isn't trading Bourque for Anderson. They REALLY aren't trading him for another 4+ years of Anderson.

I’d move Bourque for the right player. Nick isn’t that guy tho. Def not for Wyatt. I do think Nick has a future in the league as a goal scorer, but I think Wyatt will be just as good offensively with a stronger overall game. Also C > W all day long

sorry dobby
You can’t have 24 players on your roster 😀
Dumping Dobby is the right move if it’s the cost to sign our pending RFA.
My guess is that Nill is working like crazy to avoid that. He proved just last year how much he loves to have depth at the goaltending position.
And yes, that Suter’s contract sucked the second it was signed last year.

I think a 4th is about the right price to cap dump Dobby. He only has this upcoming season remaining on his contract, and sending him down to the AHL reduces his cap hit closer to $2.2M. Not a huge inconvenience for the teams looking to take a cap dump in exchange for draft picks.
