Less than that? Setting aside the issue of using as your measuring stick a trade that most agree is one of the worst in recent memory, you're still asking for more in return for a player who has proven less than Jeannot had at the time of that trade. You know it's a nonsense offer yourself so let's just be honest here.

Toronto leads league “it means nothing this year” laughable. So do the good records by the other pod teams mean nothing as well?

It's hard to say, I think as long as he plays a full season he wins the rocket and is top 5 points. I also think he'll get consideration for the selke

Looks like you’ve changed this up since the comments. Seems about right.
Leafs will sit Marincin in the pressbox and move marlies up for road trips to accrue cap space.
I would be happy with this team and at TDL we will have an idea what to add.

Marlies Update 4
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>notKyleDUbas123</b></div><div>1. How have Sandin/Liljegren looked in their own end and do you think they can make the jump next year? Possibly another year for Sandin in the AHL for him to become more complete/bulk up.
2. Can Trevor Moore kill penalties?
3. Any surprises that could make the leafs out of camp? Bracco, Marchement, Engvall?
4. I assume Rosen is a lock for the leafs next year, does he look NHL ready?</div></div>
Alright I can’t answer all of these yet, but I’ll see what I can do:
- Liljegren and Sandin have looked good in both ends, and have had substantial seasons for their development in terms of point production. That being said, they’ve been out for a lot of the season with injuries, and I don’t think they’re NHL ready yet. I think next year will be their Rosen/Dermott year, where they spend an extra year developing and forcing Dubas to call them up. I think they’ll play after injuries, and will be immediate callups, but one more year before they get full time. That also allows them to come in after a full season without injuries.
Can Trevor Moore kill penalties? Absolutely. Will he under Babcock? I don’t know. He hasn’t been amazing in the PK, but he has looked more capable than many others. If guys like Brown are gone next year, he will spend some one on the PK, but won’t be a regular like Kappy and Hyman.
Surprises to make the team? Probably none, but Moore, Rosen and Bracco will imo. Borgman is obviously close, and Sandin/Lilly will be too, but I think they’ll be in the AHL for one more year. Marchment is going to be a 3/4 liner at tops, and Brooks is hard to tell. The next after the obvious ones on Forward will likely be Marchment, Timashov and Brooks, but an interesting option could be to actually acquire Sam Gagner from Van city and use him as an option.
Rosen looks amazing in the AHL. He will def be a Leaf next year, whether as a 6th or 7th dman.

Cup Contenders
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>notKyleDUbas123</b></div><div>I hope so man. Both are on pace for about 45 points. That's pretty good. Kap and AJ know how important they are to this team, you can't win with guys without them. I'd say pay them as much, for a bridge, as we can while still keeping cap space available.</div></div>
Oh for sure, I think something that isn't mentioned enough is that Kap and AJ both came up through the system with Dubas, won a calder cup (not kappy), etc. They seem very loyal to Dubas (and the city), he's always given them a great chance to compete so we'll se what happens. We should all be excited that our core is getting locked up not freaking out like so many others about AM only signing for 5 years.

Nylander may be better now but I'm taking Kotkaniemi over Nylander every day of the week.</div></div>
He created 4th most chances in the league along with Marner from when he got back, he is very very good and smooth player and is working harder than previous years but it just isnt getting in.. it eventually would. On the other hand Kotkaniemi is a beast and I wouldnt deal Kotkaniemi for Nylander if Im Montreal, Kotkaniemi and Nylander are no comparables, they have different playing styles as well as other attributes and role. Both are great young players for their respective teams.

In an alternate reality
It's an interesting thought experiment to think about how different the Jets and the Leafs would be if the draft order went differently. I think the leafs would still be a really good team and its interesting to think about how different a player Nylander would be in this situation had he become a center. I also think that if the Jets had Matthews instead of Laine they'd be a downright scary team with a dominant three lines. Not that they aren't a crazy good team now. Both good teams. Both great players. I'd love to see a Jets/Leafs SCF - the country might just go nuts if that ever happens.. and it could!

Decent, good, basically the same thing. At least in my home country, Finland.
Besides, some TOR fans think Kapanen is worth a 6x$2M contract...you know, the amount that a decent player like f***ing Jarnkrok would get. Blame it on them.
