Let's just call it "out of the North division", after that get the tee times booked.

Winning the North division this season isn't really that difficult. Winnipeg is really the only team that could present any kind of challenge. The Leafs will get absolutely demolished by whoever they face in the Conference finals, as there are at least 10 teams from other divisions that are better than they are.

That would be the conference finals. I wouldn’t want to play the leafs there.

I'm aware, as you can tell by me saying "let's call it getting out of the North Division" If I am any one of those other three teams I am salivating to play the winner of the North unless it's Winnipeg

Name one and I’ll show you a team with less wins in a weaker division.

Why would you want to play against the team leading the league.

You know as well as everyone else here that "leading the league" this year means next to nothing, that's like saying Alexei Melnichuk is the league leader is SV%, he is, but it's an extremely disingenuous statement.

Less wins weaker division. Only 3 good teams, Chicago without their 1c is in 4th place in that division. Florida does not have to face Boston Vegas or Toronto or Washington.

Toronto leads league “it means nothing this year” laughable. So do the good records by the other pod teams mean nothing as well?

Every other team in the North is garbage, save Winnipeg and maybe Edmonton. Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary are basement teams, and Montreal for whatever reason can't seem to get their crap together.

My beer league team would make the playoffs in the North this year.

Correct... They're all leading their divisions, Toronto is leading it's division, that's how every division should be looked at.

Calgary and Vancouver shouldn’t be basement teams. Vancouver is in too deep of a hole but Calgary may still dig themselves out.

Toronto Winnipeg and Habs are good. Edmonton is well... Edmonton. Highs and lows make them average.

Look in any division and say it is different.

Leafs have been in the strongest conference with Tampa and Boston and with much worse teams the best they’ve been knocked out of the playoffs was in 6 by Washington took Boston to game 7 twice. These two teams were going to the finals and Winning cups over the past few years.

Sure Toronto is in a weaker division than the Atlantic but no weaker than any of these new divisions. Toronto is playing defence and I believe are third in the league this year (in the division leading in offence) and 2nd in offence.

Leafs have been winning games through major injuries. It’s a good looking team. Who even knows if they make it out of the division n. Hockey is like that. But no team I. Their right mind is looking at them saying “oh yeah this will be easy”

Your beer league team comment tells me your just a troll.

The Leafs are rolling get excited. Dcore looks good. Top 6 is great. Bottom six is going to be tested in the post season. But as a fan of the Lightning during The Sweep I say to you "don't get cocky kid." The Leafs were always going to win the North division. The question is and will be "can they do it in the post season" until they prove they can.

Agreed, but that goes for every team. Hockey has a ton of parody.

You can call me a troll if you want, but the guys on NHL radio have been saying the same exactly thing all week. They used the term "AHL team" not "beer league team", but you get the idea.

So they’re idiots too... great article in the athletic that actually breaks it down nicely.

To get at leafs fans other teams are dunking on their own teams right now to call us down. It’s pretty epic.
