I know Jet fans may not want to read this: I dunno if signing Hellebuyck to a seven year expensive contract at age 30 was wise.</div></div>
Oh that Hellebuyck contract was awful before the ink dried, think I'm the only Jets fan that thought so but yeah its brutal.

25/26 hopefully the good and cost efficient, Minten, Cowan, Grebjokin?Webber are Leafs.</div></div>
They technically also have Holmberg on a pretty cheap deal along with McMann and Benoit who are on some nice reasonable extensions.
JT's also off the books so theirs money to spend anyway.

I wonder honestly about trading down and amassing assets for both this draft and 2025
We have seen teams do it to where they trade a pick and get some for this and next draft
Thats what I feel we should do as this draft aint crazy
Our first is between 23 and 25 so yea can probs trade down get 2 mid 2nds then go from there like the Canes did.

Wtf are you talking about? Weber's contract does not affect anything. He would be on LTIR, similar to the Seabrook contract that we currently have.

Yeah, 14 points in 55 games is way better than 15 points in 52 games.
He's a 15-20 point player who caught lightning in a bottle for one season and Brisboise sold the farm hoping he could catch it again.

Leafs Cup 2025
I see that you don't know who Quinton Byfield is.
Here's a hint: you have him re-signing for $950,000. We'll be giving him either a long-term deal or, more likely, a bridge deal at around $6 million, give or take half a million.
We won't be trading him unless it's in a package for Mitch Marner inasmuch as we drafted him second overall and he's the best young player that we have.
Matt Roy will get a similar amount for between 4 and 6 seasons.

Canes Shock Some By Keeping Pesce and Turbo Instead of Guentzel

DAL, EDM, TOR would all make better offers than this. Plenty of other competitive teams would too. Pesce is good enough to be a 2RD on most any playoff team.

Dallas doesn’t need Marner
Robertson/ hintz/ seguin/ Benn/ marchment/ Stankoven/ bourqe/ Johnston their whole top 9 is basically filled they won’t be paying 9 mill for another forward at the cost of their defence.

I dont mind your thinking Id just rather have Demelo- Matt Roy (and we dont have to pay anything for him) and 1 of Chatfield, Deshardians( From EDM, IDK how to spell that last name) or Hakappaa. in that order in pairs. Trade Lilly

The Jets aren't in a position to be able to spend that many assets for one year of a player that doesn't fill a need.

If we move marner
Devils probably have zero interest. We have other pressing needs…and it’s “more of the same” as Fitzy has often discussed. We need a veteran dman, a goalie, 3C, maybe a couple 4th liners.

If we move marner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Why does Marner waive to Devils.....who may not have the cap for the trade anyways.</div></div>
We don’t. There’s no room for another big money forward on the devils, there are four already. That’s an expensive price to pay for a one year rental who has a history of being difficult on contract negotiations. That’s not a problem id like the devils to inherit. They have to extend both Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec in the next 26 months. There’s no room to fit Mitch Marner in there too.

I know that some Leafs fans are down on Mitch Marner, as if he's the sole problem, but not even the worst Toronto homer thinks that he should take a $1.65 million -- <strong>million</strong>! -- pay cut.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fil97</b></div><div>I said that if I was the leafs GM I wouldn't trade him. I never said pit is the only home for him. this are not scraps lol
again a 1st and a good prospect is what the pens got for guentzel, no reason at all to believe that the leafs will get more from any team.
oh and Marner would definitely move his NMC for pit and to play with Sid</div></div>
These are definitely scraps 😂. Good prospects🤯, these aren’t even some of your top prospects and you have one of the worst prospect pools in the league. Rakell holds negative value (cap hit) and a late 1st in a weak draft just adds up to a pathetic offer.
Agree to disagree on Marner waiving for Pitt; all players in the league respect Sid (many grew up idolizing him) but team is not competitive (even with him).
Zero chance this happens
