Franson interest rumor
Pretty sure Scuderi has a NMC, so you can't send him to the AHL.

Top six on a budget
Toronto is not paying Babcock all that money to oversee a rebuild. They are going to try and retool on the fly and be in the thick of it at least by next year. JVR will be a big part of that because he's signed to one of the best contracts in the NHL. If they did do a full rebuild, then Sutter and Spaling hold very little to no value to them since they will be UFA's next year. Harrington is a solid (not great) prospect and a 1st will always hold some value, but it's not close enough to get JVR let alone a 2nd as well.
Also, I'd be shocked if Soderberg didn't get at least $4.5M/year.
I'd love the lineup, but I think it's unrealistic.

The Best Top Nine in the League
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RandomGuy1</b></div><div><i>Florida has ZERO use for Spaling. They've got at least 7 guys on the wings that are better than him. They have no need for bottom 6 guys. Trading Sutter to get Semin is a gross overpayment. A swap for Scuderi, or Scuderi and a pick should be plenty for Semin. Not Sutter. There is recent talk of Greiss returning, but there is ZERO reason to give him a raise over last year. If anything, a paycut would be in order. I don't think they would bring Tikhonov in to be a 4th liner. He's better than that.</i></div></div>
I don't want to speak for him or her, but it's doesn't matter the team. They could find someone to take Spaling for a pick.
Sutter for Semin is crazy, but it's Semin at 50% retained. That's significant. I wouldn't do it because I don't want anything to do with Semin, but you have to give teams something to eat that much salary.
No thanks to Greiss. He's fine as a backup, but he's not going to be good enough to fill in for Fleury if he gets hurt and the Pens need all the cap space they can get. It would be nice as a luxury, but the Pens can't afford that right now.

Pens w/ Oshie, Semin, Berglund, Franson, Tikhonov
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Venomknight257</b></div><div><i>That Oshie/Berglund trade is laughable. Trading an aging Kunitz who is at the end of his prime, a potential flop of a prospect in Bennet(who also has no contract and is an RFA) and a horrendous prospect in Ruopp. Sutter is really the only player in this trade worth the price tag and he is really just a Berglund copy. The Blues only save $1.2m in cap space, not including Bennet's pending contract. So really the Blues would trading for an aging depth winger and Sutter. Keep dreaming, but the only trade I can see happening is if Malkin is waives his NMC in a king's ransom deal to the Blues. And that is not going to happen unless the Pens retain a part of his salary.</i></div></div>
What's really laughable is that you can see the Pens trading Malkin and even more laughable than that is that you think they would have to retain salary if they ever decided to trade him.

"4 Lines that can score"
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cg2023</b></div><div><i>What is the obsession with Oshie, he isn't anything special. Kapanen would be held in the AHL before given fourth line minutes. His game could develop faster with 20 minutes per night down there than up at the NHL level. Kunitz is still a better top six option than Comeau. Chicago would not retain anything in a Bickell deal, they can't afford to.</i></div></div>
Oshie's not a star, but he's a 60 point winger presumed to be available. Dude's got crazy hands. He doesn't have great speed, but Malkin likes to play that methodical east-west game anyway. I think they'd be a great fit as long as someone on that line shoots the puck. Plus, he plays a solid 2-way game.
I just don't think that the Blues would be interested in Sutter at all. They have a ton of centers already.

Realistic Pens
Blues have a ton of centers. I don't think they'd be interested in Sutter and I wouldn't want Beleskey at that cap hit (and likely term).

kneel before saad
I don't think it's realistic to think that Saad will be playing anywhere except for Chicago, but this would be pretty sweet. The defense would have me a little worried, but it would be worth it to have that top 6. I'd try to trim a little salary somewhere to sign a Fehr or Soderberg for the 3C, though. Would probably rather KK in the AHL than the 4th line, too.
