Carolina Hurricanes signed Ruslan Khazheyev (3 Years / $845,000 AAV)
Kind of a shocking signing, but I don't mind it at all, easily the best goalie prospect in the system (excluding Kochetkov of course). Believe his contract had expired with Traktor, so that could've been a reason he came over, incredible year in the MHL. Waddel said in the presser of the signing that he will play at a "pro level", and even though it sounds lately that we're getting an AHL team, he probably needs to start out with Norfolk anyways, which isn't a bad thing at all. Super young goalie still, and looks like he's committed to coming over to pursue his NHL dreams which can be difficult with Russians. Super big dude, and glad to have him in the system this early on.

Its so funny that people vote NO on entry level deals. It literally cannot hurt the team at all so why is it bad in their eyes?

Low risk signing, with a not very high ceiling. To be honest, if he walked it wouldn't have bothered me much.
Curious to see how he'll stack up in Laval.

Could be a decent NHLer with time, unfortunately he isn't quite like his brother

Solid pickup for the Panthers, the come up of this kid over the last season is such a great story. Was sort of a nobody, then just randomly became his teams best defenseman. He's got a giant frame and is a free prospect, not much to complain about. Great for the Panthers, I am a very big fan of this very big player.

Was it a good signing? we'll find out. Its a low risk signing. If he turns out to be an NHLer then awesome. If he doesn't then you move on at the end of the ELC. Seems like every year NCAA UDFA get hyped up and they almost never live up to that hype.

Easily a top 5 prospect in the system, three seasons at UMASS did him well. By the end of the season Morrow should play a few games while guys rest, gotta think he's the Pesce replacement for next season. Finally happy to see Morrow signed, especially after Friedman said teams were trying to trade for his rights, but he's a hurricane and hopefully for a while to come. So much offense and flash, as well with his defense progressing this season in his junior year.

Toronto Maple Leafs signed Jacob Quillan (2 Years / $875,000 AAV)
Fantastic pickup for the Leafs, one of the bigger fish NCAA free agents and one of my personal favourite targets. Fills a valuable position as a center and looked excellent this past season. May be a sore spot for Knies though, Quillan was the one who scored the goal that defeated Knies and his Golden Gophers in the NCAA finals last season
Excellent pickup, kind of shocked he chose the Leafs but I am not complaining in the slightest

On the positive side, it is 100% buriable.
On the negative side, it will be buried 100% of the time. I don't even know if this player is fit for the AHL.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KSIxSKULLS</b></div><div>Had a worst year than last. 21 in the NCAA, Goalies are voodoo though</div></div>
I watch a lot of Hockey East. Merrimack went from finishing 2nd in HE (both regular season and playoffs) and making the NCAAs to 2nd last in HE this year. Merrimack was very injured all year, and they missed 3 top 4 dmen (on top of other players) for varying parts of the season that added up. The dip wasn't on him, he still stole them a few games down the stretch. But goalies are voodoo like you said. His size certainly makes him a super interesting guy to follow lol

NCAA guys are always fun to gamble on, but Fenton doesn't look like he'll be anything great. Still, he is young; there are worse ways to use your 50 contract spots.

AHL Trade Deadline isn't until friday. Both players can't play in the NHL this year, but neither have a legit shot anyways.
You'll see a few more, likely AHL players on NHL contracts for FC
