Buying Out Bobby Ryan Made No Sense
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMac66</b></div><div>He didn't have to be protected in expansion</div></div>
I didn't check out his NMC before they removed him from Sens roster but if it was a full NMC. They kind of did have to protect him. Never I mind I found a version of it was a full NMC.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>No Movement Clause (NMC)
No Movement means the player cannot be waived, assigned to minors, or traded without approval. This also means they cannot be exposed in an Expansion Draft and must be protected. </div>

Ew no keep Tony DeAngelo as far away from this team as possible. Even putting aside the fact that he's a huge piece of **** (which he is), he's not what Ottawa needs at all. They don't need an Offensive D who is a liability defensively. They need a guy who can be a steadying defensive presence in the top 4, to balance out the offensive minded guys they already have. Sens don't have the depth to offer him the 65% OZ starts or whatever he had this year.
For all the fuss Ottawa has made about "character" and "getting the room right" it would run completely counter to that to acquire a guy like DeAngelo.
Also there's no way Ottawa should be giving a 2nd to acquire MAF. if they can't get assets for taking that deal, there are plenty of goalie options that make way more sense. Not giving up assets to help teams out of a cap crunch.

Starting roster next year no trades
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CowSaysMoo</b></div><div>Do the Sens still see Logan Brown as a top prospect? That forward group is pretty good.</div></div>
I still think he could figure out the small issues and be a really good 2C. I just think that Norris is much better, and is great at all the things Brown struggles with. Add in the fact that they are getting a future star 1C prospect 3rd overall, and they have a guy like Colin White who is better suited to being a 3C than Brown is.
I think he might have run out of road in Ottawa, but the skill is still there that he would still be a top 5 prospect in a lot of other teams.

This is a TERRIBLE DEAL. You are overpaying a bottom pair dman and we already have those in SPADES. Chiarot, kulak, Ouellett, and Fleury. This is HORRIBLE.

Vegas Golden Knights signed Ryan Reaves (2 Years / $1,750,000 AAV)
Right now he's one of the top 5 fighters in the league and is a good personality for Vegas marketing. If he's putting up 13-20 points a season its a decent contract. But I voted no because I see him losing his foot-speed in a league that's becoming faster and faster every season.

It's not too bad of a contract, I think. Again, it's only two years and the contract is pretty easy to dump if his game completely falls off the cliff. He's played well for Vegas the last few years. Yes, he's getting up there in years for a hockey player, however, I think that $1.7M for two years is decent for what he provides.

(STL/MTL) - Allen and 2022 7th RD pick for 2020 3rd RD pick and 2020 7th RD pick
Allen was very good last year but you gotta think that MTL could have gotten him for less, or even negative value due to cap circumstances.
If I were a Habs fan, I'd be worried about this. Tying up 15 mil in goaltenders is a poor use of cap (spare me the obvious jokes) and this means they won't be spending money on parts of the roster they need to improve to be a consistant playoff team.
Honestly I think this is a lose-lose trade. MTL paid too much for too little value (backups don't contribute much) and STL lost their better goalie.

They got a 3rd round pick for a goalie that put up a .927 this year. Montreal gave up the pick they got for signing Kovalchuk and trading him a month later. It's a clear W for MTL

- Calle Jarnkrok
- Eeli Tolvanen
- 2020 2nd-round pick (NJD)

- Tage Thompson
- Colin Miller
- Casey Mittelstadt</div></div>
It's not a bad offer, but I think Poile really wants to try out Tolvanen this year. In any Turris trade, I can't see Poile retaining salary, giving up a good pick, <em>and</em> giving up a top prospect. However, in this case it's a prospect swap Tolvanen - Mittlestadt, so I wonder if that would change Poile's mind. It's an interesting offer, but I don't know if NSH would want to lose Tolvanen. You could probably remove Mittlestadt and Tolvanen and I think it'd be closer for Poile. But who knows!

I wouldn't trade Brown just to move up a few spots. He has more value to Ottawa in the locker room and in the lineup.
