Adams can't screw this up like Botterill did with O'Reilly - thats all I'll say

Risto Trade
Risto probably will be exposed to Seattle at this point in the expansion draft - not because he's awful (some justified) but there are better/younger options to protect.

there are parts to like on this deal. Though I wonder if the Sabres would look elsewhere to shore up the goaltending (poaching a Vanecek or Adin Hill before they can be exposed in expansion to Seattle). Now if Ullmark is not back - then the urgency for a goalie will only increase.

Svechnikov to New Jersey probably controversial
I get the rationale for the pitch, especially with Svech might get a bigger AAV than Aho - HOWEVER, this offer is not even close, IMO

Eriksson trade
and Chicago only has an abundance of Cap space this season because Toews/Nylander and Shaw are not playing and is on LTIR. Shaw might be back their next season if his concussion issues don't get any better.
I think Chicago saves Seabrook's LTIR space for in-season acquisitions next season.

Eichel to Vegas idea
This would not work out because
1) Fleury has a Modifed NTC clause in his contract and I doubt he'd want to be in Buffalo at this point in his career.
2) Vegas has so much top heavy contracts (Stone, Pietrangelo, Patches, Wild Bill, Theodore, Reilly Smith, Lehner, Fleury and Marchessault are all over $5 Mil per) - I agree they would need to move at least 1, if not 2 contracts out to make it work.
3) Krebs and Hague are the kind of contracts they need at this point, especially with playing the daily cap dance, they can be "reassigned" to the minors regularly.
I think if I deal were to be make here - Tuch AND Theodore would need to be included (neither have a NTC/NMC) as a start - and I can't see Vegas letting Theodore go.
Just my thoughts

Eichel rags
well - I have questions
1) Why would the Sabres take DeAngelo, even with the Rangers holding 50%, when they could wait until he's bought out and sign him for a 1yr/$1million "prove you have matured" contract. I don't think the Sabres would want to add DeAngelo anyhow because there is a pretty good pipeline of D-men the Sabres have (and will add another with Power @ 1 or 2 in the draft).
2) I know Buch is an RFA with Arb rights, do the Rangers think he'd get something in the lines of 6-7 Million per year? As an outsider, him with Mika and Krieder look phenomenal every time I watch the Rangers. I would think the point of adding Eichel is to have him with Mika and Buch and move Krieder to play with Panarin; UNLESS they don't think they can make the numbers work on a new deal for him.
3) I can see the Sabres needing Hajak on the return, unless some of the Sabre Prospects are not ready and/or they move Risto or Colin Miller first. Then they might have a need for someone that has NHL experience.
As a Sabre fan, I think the Rangers or the Kings makes the most sense IF the Sabres were to look to move Eichel. The more I think about this with the Rangers, I would have to think Georgiev would need to be included in this deal. Even if the Sabres do resign Ullmark, he's getting to Antti Raanta level of injury prone sadly.
Chytil and the picks are good starting points on a deal IMO

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>EsoYeezus69</b></div><div>Both teams say no. Carolina would be in a cap crunch after this, and Buffalo could probably get more for Eichel.</div></div>
not probably - would (should) get more. Honestly, Carolina has a good solid core of young forwards - if I'm Waddell or Canes fan, I'm looking for the "right" players, not the best players to supplement the core that is there now.

Get Ovi another Cup and break the goal record
Ovie is going to be a UFA after the season ends - so, effectively this offer is a 1st and Ovie's signing rights for Kucherov (if he waives his NMC) - I can't see that happening.

Sabres add Goalie before expansion lists are finalized - See Comment
To say the Sabres goaltending situation is a mess is an understatement. I see a couple of teams that will most likely lose a goalie if they don't make moves to get something back (ARZ - Hill ; CBJ - Kivlenieks ; WSH - Vanacek)
So with that in mind and being there are no guarantees Ullmark re-signed, if I was the Sabre GM - I'd look to add a goalie from one of these teams and protect them). My choice would be Vanecek - not sure if it would need to be a condition pick based on number of starts....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>I agree, but its gonna need to be something like this to pry Eichel out of Buffalo</div></div>
this is true
honestly - there are only 2 teams that I think can put a package together that would make Adams say yes - LA and the Rangers.
I think the deal posted by Devil1122 is pretty darn close to what the return that would be expected but I think there would be an issue with too much youth in the short-term (which might be OK, depending on who the coach is) - just my 2 cents

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>His concussion issues were really unfortunate. Hopefully he can prove himself, but it's gonna take some time to build up value.</div></div>
I think any deal for Patrick is going to be done just prior to the protected lists coming out for the expansion draft. A team that is going to be willing to take a risk and protect him will send over a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him. Detroit, Buffalo, Chicago and LA are 4 teams that probably could protect Patrick with a deal, just off the cuff.

Blockbuster buffalo-leafs trade unlikely to happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>Too much. Don't really need any of these guys.
Would take Hall for Hallander and a first.
Can't afford Miller next year and don't need him
Ulmark is good, but no point. Freddy will be back in the playoffs, and is fully capable of stepping in if Soupy gets injured.</div></div>
as a Sabre fan - Hall (50% retained) for Hallander and a first would be great, but why would Toronto do that? With the Leafs current Cap situation (even after trading for Nash to stash him on LTIR), the Leafs would probably need to move a contract out to make it work (Kerfoot's the easiest to have this work with).
As for Ullmark - I can't see the Sabres dealing him, they may not win another game this season if they do (not that it matters). I think he gets an extension in the next 24-36 hours. Because after him... the cupboard for goalies is not good and UPL is at least 1, maybe 2 seasons away.

Thread:
why not
as a Sabre fan, I would like this.... BUT....I don't think it's realistic.
The only way that I can see the Habs giving up that 1st rounder (even in this draft) if it's a condition 2nd - that would become a 1st if the Habs get to the Semi-Finals/Finals (and thats not even taking Lehkonen into account - which would need to be a part of the deal for cap reasons, IMO).
Simply put, if it was Hall (with 50% retained) for Lehkonen and Tampa's 2nd, that I could see happening.
