There is 0% chance anyone is paying a 3rd for Schenn on an expiring contract, that's a pipe dream. I could see a player and a 5th but if that's what you're expecting I think you'll be disappointed...

I'm all in as well. I am 100% ready to be hurt again LOL. Love the look of this team

I have liked Kerfoot on the fourth line and he can easily go up and down the lineup as well as PK with the addition of Lafferty I think I like Kerfoot more than Engvall in that role but I do think it will be Kerfoot moved over him.

Leafs playoff lines after trade
If it were me I would be trading engvall over kerfoot and no way is Justin Holl in my starting lineup for the playoffs against TB but I really like that third line.

Honestly can’t tell if that’s sarcasm lol.
And they’re both on expiring contracts and isn’t your goal to be bad this year ….. whatever we throw in a 4th or 5th but if you think you’re getting more than that you’re nuts

Final pieces
Agreed it is an overpay. I think that is what it takes to get something done and there's always possibility of salary retention on their end. I just thought both of these guys add a different element to this team and makes it more complete not to mention acquiring some term. Until we know muzzin status and if cap is going up its an interesting option given Vancouver's struggles

LOL ^^^^ one says scraps one says good players. It's hilarious. To be fair I think it's a good deal for both sides, gives you young talent that you can hope to sign long term. To me you guys need a little more skill and we need good players that can play physical.
We have a SURPLUS of LD we NEED RD. So yeah I'm fine making that trade. +/- is literally THE stat for D because that is the definition of their job. To help score more goals than they allow. IT is not a D mans job to score goalies. It is to prevent them.
Kerfoot is a good player but he has no role on this team, he doesn't fit other than being a really good PKer. You trade him to get something for him and use his cap hit to get something else either this year or next year when he would walk anyway.

I think that will come down to what happens over the next few weeks, I understand what you mean but if they continue not to play well they might want an expiring contract and a pick in a very good draft while they re-tool. Not sure what it would take to get the deal done but Nino is only signed for 2 years.

You think Sandin is going to be our best dman at any point? Come on if not next year the year after Niemela will be better and with Knies coming in it is better to get something for the guys that will be on the outside looking in.
That's why he has been a plus player in almost every single year he's played? WE don't need any more small skilled D men. We need tough to play against solid d that can make good first passes out of our zone and are hard to play against. Instantly makes this team better.

You must not have ever played a game in your lives. Just another bunch of keyboard warriors haha. This makes them way harder to play against, better, and provides you with a shutdown pair if you wanted to use them that way.

Very original comment. This team beats the current team 10/10 times and is better moving forward. There are overpays here for sure but that's what you have to do to get deals done these days

I think they would be smart too. Might have to add another high-end draft pick but with their buyout penalties increasing significantly next year and unless they plan on going for it this year might be something to consider. Seattle you would probably have to add prospects and that would be interesting to see who they would want. They are collecting picks right now so who knows what exactly they would want.

Who knows anymore
Not at all. Schenn has played both in the past and this lineup is really for the playoffs with muzzin back. Also liljegren plays both as well so this gives them plenty of options moving forward.
I feel this solidifies the back end with options and cements our top 6. This is the year to go all in with the muzzin ltir space.

I have clearly said above we might have to add something ^^^^^ I think you are undervaluing kerfoot he is quite versatile but then again everyone overvalues their own players and undervalues others.
I think out of all the moves I made Bertuzzi being the most outlandish is funny

Rangers have $22M in cap space right now ????
Might have to add a prospect or pick to get Bertuzzi not sure what the ask is.
Laf I think is interesting no question his potential is off the charts but until it happens it's a gamble both ways

DEFENSE
Timashov has played quite well when in the lineup I think you might be surprised.
I also think Bracco needs to play in a role better suited for him; that which he will never get to play here. He has shown upside but definitely needs a change of scenery. Could work out for both sides, but you could be right, upgrade the pick to a 4th and it might get done.

3 Birds 1 Stone
That's where I disagree.
Johnsson had a slow start to the year because of his injury but is looking better and better. I would say both Kap and Johnsson have top 6 potential and are signed with term.
Bracco needs a change of scenery and has shown potential but seems unmotivated in his current situation.
Ceci is merely a throw in to serve for the rest of the season and then he is gone.
You're right in that there may need to be a higher end pick added however Kreider is merely a rental and both DeAngelo + Georgiev have expiring contracts. With Fox playing well as well as Trouba, Staal, Skjei, and Smith already signed I fail to see how DeAngelo fits in there as well where Dermott could be a cheaper answer in a bottom 4 role. I think adding a 3rd might be what could make this happen. Shesterkin has also looked excellent and already being committed to Lundy makes things interesting, while they don't have to move him this might interest them in acquiring good young talent with term.
