Shattenkirk
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>I_Know_Nothing_About_Hockey_Or_Any_Sport2</b></div><div>Signing Shattenkirk could pay off since he was probably better than he got credit for being in New York (who expected him to be a top defenseman and ended up misusing him), but it’s also a bit risky at any reasonable AAV. First of all, I’m assuming he’s not outperforming Cernak or Sergachev, so he’d be on the third pairing with Coburn and maybe get some power play minutes (but probably not due to Hedman and Sergachev). As soon as Foote is deemed ready to play (as early as day one of the season), he’ll be benched. If Schenn, Rutta, or Witkowski outperforms him in training camp, he’d also be benched. So there’s a decent chance we rarely see Shattenkirk even if he signs here. We don’t need a third-pairing RHD badly, so if he wants to sign for like $1m at one year, fine, but if he wants a reasonable AAV, that would limit our flexibility to trade. Someone like Kreider would fill more of a need, so as long as that’s not completely outside the realm of possibility, I don’t want to unnecessarily hamper flexibility for a luxury.
Also, Condon isn’t being moved. He’s playing in Syracuse this year.</div></div>
Saw JBBs quote about Condon, but won’t believe he doesn’t move him this season until I see it. Shattenkirk is an upgrade at RHD3 over Rutta and Schenn. Don’t expect to see Foote either.

Lol. Maybe if Point only only cared about the money like Marner, I could see it

Edmonton isn't giving a top 5 overall draft pick for a rental. At a time they're not contending especially.

Lightning Trade
Well somehow everyone either thinks that my proposed trade is way too favorable for NYR or for TBL. Maybe split the difference and that means its a perfect trade lmao

Lightning Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aspina25</b></div><div>The Rangers are already up against the cap. Why would they trade their best contract, another cheap contract and best defensive prospect for a marginal upgrade that will cost more money and leave holes in their offense?</div></div>
I think Point is very significant upgrade at C, and will continue to improve too, whereas it’s less likely Mika will. Related, and also worth considering, Point is 3 years younger. But you make a fair point. I think Points value is super high right now though.

Tampa Bay Lightning signed Andrei Vasilevskiy (8 Years / $9,500,000 AAV)
On the surface a little tough. Doesn’t look amazing for TBL. But it’s hard to lock up a goalie for that long, and compared to Bobrovski’s 10Mx7 this looks far better.

Tampa doughty
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BOLTLOVER1</b></div><div>I think Tampa does have to start thinking out of the box. Toronto and Boston .. with Florida lurking .. are better playoff teams and it isnt close. Atlantic division is going to rock next year and Tampa cant win. My preference has always been Stamkos trade to bring in a younger top 6 forward and tougher top 4 RD .. but if that wont happen maybe trading Point is needed .. just sad how this piece of crap owner and management is killing this team.</div></div>
The Lightning have amazing ownership. The team just won 62 games you sound like an idiot. The only notable mistakes were all Yzerman who gave out NTCs to everyone, and now he’s gone

what the **** did i "quote" at any point. "Fake news" coming from the Serge/Risto guy swap is pure comedy too. I dont know why that being rumored Risto is awful and his one redeeming quality is PP which Tampa doesnt remotely need.

I think the Lightning have a solid bottom 6, many 20 goal per season types.
I also expect growth out of Cirreli, Joseph, Sergachev young guys too.
