Fair. But I really want to see all the comments from the same people who for a year straight traded this guy and Mikheyev “anywhere for picks”

Necc has been coming along really nicely and has been one of the under reported stories of the leafs so I doubt fans of other teams realise just how effective he has been. His arb case was a lot stronger than you think it was and we kept him cheap for another year. Good deal.
This pretty much confirms that there will be another move made though soon. All flags point to kerfoot (as I've been saying for months now)

don't understand this trade for pittsburgh. first they traded their young, defensive rhd for a younger, offensive lhd. then they trade a two-way lhd in his prime for a more expensive, over the hill offensive rhd.

Good cap hit for a 30 year old bottom 6 role player who had 1 outlier with Calgary last year but is otherwise a solid bet for 10-15 goals and 30-40 points.
Those screaming about his playoff production aren't looking at his years with Nashville. He was clutch for them.</div></div>
He's a middle six player not bottom 6. C/w. I'm pretty happy

Those concerned about term seem odd. He is making 2.1 mil. Lets assume those people are happy with two year term. In 2 years the dump amount will likely be about 1.4 million. So the risk here is 700 k of unwaiveable salary? Seems a pretty low risk, should be fairly easy to waive/dump/trade if it comes to it.
I am much happier with 2.1 million for 4 years than 3 mil for 2 or 2.75 for 3 or something. Frankly I'd have tried to see if he'd done 1.9 for 5

I was a little surprised to see this because I expected him to stay in Calgary with his cousin there. $2.1M AAV is fair value for him, and the term seems pretty low risk to me given how consistent he’s been over the years and that it doesn’t go beyond his 35th birthday.
He strikes me as being the prototypical third-line forward, mostly a centre but I think he can also play the wing, which means they can leave Kampf at centre with Jarnkrok on the wing, with the flexibility to move him around in case of injuries. It doesn’t appear to leave much cap space to sign Engvall and Sandin, but he fills a need, and they seem to have a lot of extra depth players now so I expect they can do something with them to make this work without giving up a more important piece.

Fantastic signing. Jarnkrok is a great depth guy who has fantastic defensive abilities and great finishing - the kind of player Toronto needed to lock down.
I'm fine with 4 years; I'm confident he'll be viable through all of them.

Man I like Josh Norris a lot but that is an overpay that he needs to grow into. I always say if you're going to overpay, these are the players to do it for
But guys: he shot nearly 21%. His results haven't exactly been sustainable so far. He's due for some negative regression so maybe temper expectations a little or you're not going to like the contract
Regardless, OTT now has their core locked up long term so good for them. Mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned. Still a no from me though
