I trust Lyon more than Husso, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter who’s in net if we don’t fix our RHD.
Also, Lyon is still under contract next season.

Yeah, I don't think I'd do it either. But I give him credit for at least thinking and not just going with the typical ACGM of "Here's another bottom 6 forward you don't need for a pick".

After Guerin
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmann10</b></div><div>Guerin isn't going anywhere until a year or 2 after the buyouts are over with. It was his idea to do that and the only reason he got the job, cause he had enough balls to do it. He's done a tremendous job some how keeping the wild competitive during this while hiring a scouting staff who is loading up a prospect pool to set us up very good in the future. So he will be able to see his plan out thru the end then if it fails after then he could be gone.</div></div>
Chuck Fletcher had a long rope to hang himself with, Leipold will give Guerin the same chance. Fletcher's huge gamble was signing Parise and Suter to those big deals, which got them to consistently appear in the playoffs which seems to be good enough for Leipold. Guerin's approach seems to be load up the prospect pool and see who pans out, while still competing for playoffs each year. That takes time to see how it works, so I'm guessing he'll have at least 4 more years to produce any results.

Certainly not going to give up those pieces for him as a rental. If they figure out how to fit the money they can sign him this summer.

Minni can wait and sign him in the summer....maybe. Minni still has 15m in dead cap money next suummer and Hartman and Foligno have signed with raises next season.

Depending when the deal is done (MTL would not accept this upcoming offseason), but maybe the next one if Gaudreau elevates his game in 2024-2025

Value is fine for Steel, just seems unlikely we use draft capital to acquire a player like him.

Montreal laughs at this unfortunately. I like the Soucy idea though. Could be a great option for us if he signs for that. I also have a feeling the Addison relationship might be deteriorating past the point of no return but we shall see.

Canucks already had too many wingers and too much money put into them before acquiring Beauvillier. Don’t see them taking on Greenway now, would rather a pick for Schenn

Sure they do. Especially when they're 6'6, good skaters, play defense, have decent offensive instincts and hands and are only 25 years old with two years left at a reasonable AAV.

Never hurts to throw out ideas. I do that all the time, however the pens and wild were never talking a trade. Those rumors came out as false. As for the trade the pens are still taking back 1 mil which unfortunately we cant afford.
My counter would be
Kapanen, different prospect because we like Plante, and a 3rd for Dumba (50% retained).

Alexander Holtz won't be in any deal for Jordan Greenway. He could be the main piece in a Timo Meier trade and you think we're gonna deal him for Greenway? Change Holtz to Foote and you have a deal

I dont think the value is necessarily bad, but pens still cant afford this. Also not sure Dumba is the best fit. We already have Letang, Petry, and Rutta on the right side and Pettersson, Dumoulin, POJ on the left. Where did you here these rumors?

Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tmann10</b></div><div>Flyers decline easily. They'll want a top offensive prospect in return IMO plus picks depending on cap retention. Dewar is a solid bottom 6 Fwd in the NHL but not for Giroux and then also adding braun makes this not really close.
However, I do want the Wild to pursue Giroux. He would be sick in between Fiala and Boldy</div></div>
I don't think this deal for Giroux is the winner, but top offensive prospect for a guy who is a peer rental, guaranteed to run back to Philadelphia in the off-season, also only 3 teams he would consider and he really doesn't play center much anymore. I'm might give up Beckman instead of Dewar, but that's as top as my top offensive prospect goes.
