Minni can wait and sign him in the summer....maybe. Minni still has 15m in dead cap money next suummer and Hartman and Foligno have signed with raises next season.

I would love to have Guentzel, but if Timo Meier of all people can get $8.8M x 8, I don't think its worth it for the Wild to sign him for $9M+, let alone give up three good assets for the first opportunity to do so.

Certainly not going to give up those pieces for him as a rental. If they figure out how to fit the money they can sign him this summer.

GUENTZEL IS NOT FROM MINNESOTA.

He is from Omaha, Nebraska, for Christ's sake!

How do Penguins fans of all people not know and understand this?!?!?!?!

Yes, he moved and elected to play high school hockey here. But that was simply a career choice of path to improve his odds of making the NHL. But he's definitely not a Minnesota Boy.

Furthermore, there's ZERO chance Minnesota would cough up the equivalent of 3 1st's for rental Guentzel, let alone two top prospects worth.

Maybe you get a B-level prospect and a protected 1st. But not a A-level top prospect. Not for a rental.
