The Jersey fans will be extremely mean to you and derisive. Nicknames like "littke Johnny" will be used. Not quite Canes fans reacting to any trade where they tell you they wouldn't touch that player you're proposing sending to them with someone else's 100-ft pole, but pretty close. Gaudreau might be worth another team's fourth rounder to them. Maybe. But even then, he doesn't make sense because they already have one tiny floating playmaker in their top six, and theirs plays center and is a better skater.

Philly fans will probably be happy to unload Atkinson, whom they hate, and Johansen, whom they don't need. They will be big mad about trading a first, though, even if it's not their own and could well be 32nd overall. They're also very obviously rebuilding and it was only by the grace of Torts and Sean Walker that they didn't finish behind Columbus in the standings. They managed to let Jackets defensemen score six goals on them near the end of the season. They're in an even worse spot than Columbus with regard to being truly competitive any time soon.

Both of those groups will point to the most surface level possible stats to say that Gaudreau is a useless waste of space who's totally washed and headed for the retirement home (which is what a garbage heap like Columbus is anyway, being a barren wasteland at every level with no prospect pool or picks or talent anywhere to speak of).

Columbus fans will say there's no way in hell either Atkinson or Johansen would be welcomed back without sweeteners, and especially not for Gaudreau. They will rightly point out that he was still a top-100 5v5 player in the league despite having literally no one to play with. A playmaker without a finisher is just a guy stranded on the ice. And that's not even mentioning the fact Columbus only has the second-worst power play in the league because John Tortorella coaches somewhere else, which means every single Jackets player's point totals are supressed because they're not getting anything on the PP. As with any discussion of trading Laine because money, there's no pressure on Columbus's cap. They don't need to make a move just to make a move. Gaudreau is still the best player on the team (except maybe Werenski, who somehow managed to finish the year with 57 points an even +/- as a defenseman on a bottom-four team with no PP and a collective -63).

No deal for any of the teams involved.</div></div>

LOL if its Atkinson, Johansen and Floridas first that gets it done, send him to Philly tomorrow.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LuckyMoneyPuck</b></div><div>its not bro science. You're metabolism is the number 1 factor in weight gain. Hell they did studies on runners. They tested metabolism while they trained, and while they sat on the sofa doing nothing during their rest periods to avoid over use activity.
They used the breathing test for metabolism testing. You burn the same amount of calories. It's why exercise alone will never lead to weight loss. Diet does. Everyone who ever got shredded knows that.
But at the same time if your metabolism is high.....there is nothing you can do to lower it. So it's not a calories in/out equation.
Your body has a natural metabolism, it burns, and can burn a lot. Some people are naturally skinny no matter what they eat till their metabolism slows. Those are facts. Other people can touch 1 piece of junk food and balloon. It is what it is. It's why some people struggle to gain weight and others don't.

Your ideas about what these "kids" have going on isn't true. The NCAA and Team US provide everything for these kids. I had trainers and dieticians and sports psychologists when at bowling green and that was years ago. They don't have those issues. If they need help with a diet it's given, they will help them follow it as well providing damn near anything they need.
You think just because that's how it worked for you it's how it works for all. But if you've seen someone be able to eat like crazy and not gain weight you know that's just how it is.</div></div>

Sure metabolism plays a factor in how people gain weight I am not denying that, however everyone has a base TDEE they need for maintenance which accounts for metabolism. For example, a 5'11 165 lb male athlete training 2x per day needs roughly 3500 calories per day just to maintain weight at 165. In order to gain steadily 1-1.5 lbs a week they need 3800-4000 per day, 28,000 per week, and someone with a higher metabolism should be taking in over 4000 per day. Some people just under estimate just how much they actually need to eat to hit 4000 calories per day, especially when eating "clean" as people like to call it. 4000 calories per day is an actual insane amount of food when you are talking about grilled chicken, beef, rice, fruit and veggies.
