Think his point is more so saying that CBJ would’ve never been drafting 3rd overall in 2016 with couturier and voracek. So, get rid of laine and Roslovic to start. Then you have to look and think about what else they wouldn’t have.

ya rutherford dug a massive hole with the matheson deal and ya the gaudreau trade is highly unlikely but he'd be interesting to watch beside elite centers and dougie is a dream lol

Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wolsen92</b></div><div>but we need money to resign Farabee + Coots</div></div>
Long term outlook shows over 20 mil in space for that offseason. 20 mil to sign Coots, Farabee, and G. Give bee a two year bridge, Coots a fair deal and G would have to take a pay cut. It would be a difficult situation but not impossible. There’s moves that could be made to free up space too.

I don’t think the deal for Ellis is far off but you’d probably have to replace Patrick with Frost and make the conditional 2nd a guaranteed 1st. They should be late anyways.
Also gonna need more to get Seattle to take JVR.

I'd be interested in Braun coming back to SJ just to try and revive Vlasic. Even if it's for a few years just to make a buyout on Vlasic easier to stomach.

WAY too much in both deals, and I'm not entirely convinced Ekholm can play RD.
And you're 2mil over cap
And I am unsure who you can protect in expansion on defense

Three moves to solve spine issue
1) I dont really get the Jets deal. Lowry is a UFA after this season, so youre giving up a young dman on a good contract for a possible rental. I dont know if I am too keen on that.
2) I would really like Wood. Brings that sandpaper factor that we could really use. McCann and him have been pretty similar in stats, but with how Wood has played this season, I think they would want something bigger. Blomqvist isnt a need, since they have Blackwood. I dont know know what Bjorkqvist could be at this point. Maybe they take McCann + 3rd, but I also see them not doing it haha.
3) Cousins hasnt really been a faceoff guy. He has only taken 50 in the past 2 years, but he has been over 50%, so maybe he could tranisition to C. He would be an upgrade over Jankowski for sure. I think, if anything, a good trade could be Haula or Cousins AND Grimaldi or Jarnkrok or Granlund for some assets. Could be an interesting deal.

Some people only watch their own teams. He doesn't know. it's ok.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dpellz90</b></div><div>Lmao ok sure.</div></div>
Ty Smith was a very highly-rated prospect taken by Devils in the first round of the 2018 NHL draft. He was the last cut from the 2018-19 team and returned to the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL, where he won two consecutive WHL defenseman of the year awards and one CHL defenseman of the year trophy. He has been playing top-pairing minutes with Severson in both offensive and defensive situations forming a duo that ranks among top-5 league leaders in corsi and other metrics. He is also 2nd only to Kaprizov in points-per-game for rookies and is leading about first-year defensemen. Fun fact, he has lived with Brenden Gallagher of the Montreal Canadiens in last few off-seasons.
Now you know about Ty Smith, so these kind of mistakes won't happen in the future.

Yeah, a lot. Smith isn't a worthwhile target since he is so unlikely to be moved.
And Sharangovich is a tough one since many don't know about him enough to convince them his sticker price is worth it.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Devil1122</b></div><div>Crosby for Connor Carrick</div></div>
I'd do a that deal even if Crosby had a 1-shift contract.

And there's not even a need for it. He still has room for JVR's salary in his plan. And that's before you get to unnecessarily resigning Gustafsson and not promoting Zemula.

Honestly highly unlikely. In a normal world MAYBE. but with flat cap for the entirety of Ghosts contract, his 3 at 4.5 mill is to much to digest considering his poor year last year. He's more likely a Staal or KRussell kind of trade than a swap......Maybe a team looking to improve defence could do a equal money exchange for a forward....

Marner Trade with Flyers- Does it Work
Yeah Flyers decline. The truth is, there’s not going to be any teams that will have interest in acquiring Marner given the way he played this season. We’re gonna have to have to keep him for another year & hope he improves, OR terminate his contract.

Marner Trade with Flyers- Does it Work
Losing Myers would be a metaphorical kick in the balls but if this is the offer I think Philly says yes. That much cap relief while getting Marner under 9 million is too hard to pass up. Doubt this would ever in a million years happen though

I think if PHI is willing to let JvR go, they won't have to pay for another team to take him. Maybe have to retain a few $$, but he is not Lucic, Eriksson, etc
