Allright lets say i didn't see that this way, what could be the return of armia and kulak knowing that we keep byron and have to make cap space ?

I put armia, a 2nd and kulak to get rid of byron's contract. New jersey could absord that and the 2nd here is the incentive to take this ''bad'' contract knowing the cap wont raise for the next 2 years and new jersey aren't contenders for these two next year.

Clearly that’s an issue and he probably won’t accept but If I was Brisebois for sure I’ll be interested in trading him somewhere cause he still has value and for not and overpay.

He may not be for trade in your mind but in mine, Tampa is close to win a cup and with him who played 0playoffs games but still take a space of 8,5m for 4 years. If you think that you have cirelli, sergachev to resign and point being the 1st center. You may move someone to make cap space and I’m afraid it could be him due of his injuries.

Add a conditional 2nd from MTL In 2021 (DET) if he sign and also put juulsen in the deal. I made this trade because I though Canucks are close to be real contender and they’ll need a good rental at defense before signing Hughes, juolevi, etc. This is why I also put armia in the deal who would add depth for a playoff run and he’ll be UFA at the end of the year so yo have space on the cap for signing you young players.

How much are you valuing Nate Schmidt in this case , petry vs schmidt can be an option ?

short term playoffs without affecting young core
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KakkoForMauriceRichardAward</b></div><div>Sorry but this isn't a playoff team</div></div>
Heum ok.. what do you suggest ? Because mtl add good défenseman with playoffs experience and still being good just not for their previous contract in vlasic and seabrook. They also get a great backup goalie and the cap hit doesn’t matter. In offense you trade Drouin who still has a value and you get a 3rd centerman with a good shape. You aren’t trading good assets and Drouin and mete aren’t physical enough to get a place on this roster for a playoff run. Suggest me something that will not affect the cap that much, neither affect the young core and draft picks and trying to still be competitive next year.

Overpay for overpaid backup... I refuse to spend 14.85M on goalies
Scandella is a lefty and you can sign them in Sign UFA</div></div>
I don’t think there’s an overpay here, you won’t be able to sign all the prospects you drafted so instead of letting them go as ufa because you didn’t sign them, take advantage of it and use them in trades. For the Allen trade, the guy had a great year as backup of Bennington so i think he’ll be better than all the backup we had and only for one year. So yesss you have a high payroll for goalie in 2020-2021 but primeau will be backup of price in 21-22 and your payroll will be lower at this moment and you’ll have space to sign all those ufa and rfa.
I won’t contradict you but as I recall before being trade to the blues he played on the right side instead of fleury and did a pretty good job there and I’m my lineup he’s been signing by ufa so I don’t really understand what you mean.
And I think the MIN trade is a fair deal tho so why you think there’s an overpay ?

unrealistic draft scenario
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>math731</b></div><div>WTF. The difference between Laf and Stutzle (or Byfield) is way less than that insane package! In fact, some insiders reported this week that some scouts considered that they considered (or were close to) Byfield as the number one guy. Other sources told that Yzerman even considered Stutzle as their potential 1st OA pick. Man this is insane delete this.</div></div>
if this scenario happen, what would you propose in the trade then because last rumours i heard Lafreniere was by far number 1 but after that, everything between 2 and 5 could change, so its not that i dont trust your say but its the first time i hear about those scouts who think stutzle or byfield could go first.

Trading Tatar late picks and B-prospects
It's not NHL 20, a trade including 16 pieces, 10 players and 6 draft picks is more than impossible cmon man. Tatar (with retained salary) and 2nd (STL) and fonstad gets you your 1st 2020, Ty dellandrea, Jamie oleksiak and Andrew cogliano (half salary retained). Otherwise i dont see MTL interested in it and even then the only upside of loosing tatar (which is our better forward right now) while trying to make a spot in wild card for Price and weber in the next few years is Ty dellandrea and a prospect that we dont know is he'll one day play in the nhl.

Major cap drop
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Since when is $79.5 million from $81.5 million considered a major cap drop? And major cap drop would be like either $74 million or $75 million not $79 .5 million.</div></div>
With this parity now on in the NHL and a lot of teams barely under the cap of 81.5m with big contracts already signed and an expected cap between 84m to 88m for next year before coronavirus thing, drop it to 79.5m and you put some teams in real trouble. Yeah if you look with the actual cap its not a big drop but compare it with the expected and its a much bigger drop.

choose mean you keep him, so you sign him long term cheap because to my eyes domi he more a complete athlete and more competitive than drouin. You could do a better trade for drouin maybe but you are better keeping tatar and domi than domi and drouin. Drouin has value but not that much, never been up the 55 pts and with a average of 0.6 point per game. We loose this trade with tampa but go pick up some great picks and a player on contract for one year who's a good center to keep KK in Laval and devlopp him correctly until he burns AHL.

Major cap drop
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SammyT_51</b></div><div>There wont be a major cap drop jesus christ..</div></div>
How can you be so sure about that. Tell me if im wrong but we're really close of having no playoffs at all, and if we have them I strongly think they will be behind close doors. So the NHL lose big cash here and TV contracts are almost already sign for big markets so they cant ask for more because nobody is allowed in public space so they dont make money here also. This is only for 19-20 but lets say that public health departement say that no gathering up to 100 is allowed in public area until next summer to control or limit this virus, nhl will loose money again. Yeah teams have insurance for a reason but most insurance is not valid for natural disaster which a pandemic is part of so yeah i wish too that the cap wont drop but maybe it will and it will be for economic health of the league and avoid bankruptcy.

This is a good point, he's not what he used to be so why we will be giving futur assets for a guy who'll just decline year after year but still have a big impact of 11m for 6 -7 years on the cap. Also he would have to remove his NMC and i really doubt about that because he just build a house in LA last year and really appreciated the organization and living there so. This is awful for habs and he wont accept, so in my mind is a nop from both sides.
