<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GoodIdeaAtTheTime</b></div><div>With an affordable extension, maybe Philly considers it. As a rental, heck no.</div></div>
That what I was thinking with the conditions, like if he resigns and they make playoffs, etc the 2nd turns into a 1st. Doesn't need to be Philly just first team I thought of that might of worked

What does Bertuzzi cost
If you're curious I made a AGM yesterday from the Red Wings point of view explaining why I don't think Bertuzzi won't be a Leaf, pretty much pointing out why most Leafs AGMs wouldn't interest Detroit. I checked before typing this and if you filter Detroit AGMs it's one of the first 10 that come up

I agree, it will take either one of Torontos top 3 prospects plus a pick to get Bertuzzi

Just realized that he would be a RFA but he likely would replace Hyman on the top line if Toronto got him and then he'd ask for a contract that they couldn't afford in a year. So not the same as Hyman but a similar predictament

A extra 2.5m would put you 2.3 over the cap limit, so what LTIR magic you going to work/ what signing are you not going to make to get under the cap

Dont think this is too ridiculous, but it seems like it wouldn't be too great of an idea to give up the next two years 2nds this off-season. I think trading away every years draft capital is going to end up hitting the leafs like a train

I'm going to keep on mentioning this on AGMs why on earth do leafs fan want to put more money into the top lines. You added $5.5M on a line that was already taking up $22.5M while your entire bottom 6 are only making $6.6

I mentioned this on a different AGM early today but, why do you want to spend close to $30m on 1 line, it makes the rest of the team suffer. Like that line is 35% of the cap space

Just a thought but having 30% of your cap tied up on your 2nd line might not be the best idea

Why Bertuzzi wont be a Leaf
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>We really don't got much centre depth past those two guys which is why I included him, same with RD past Seider Lindstrom and Hronek, so that's why liljegren is in there. I wouldn't not trade for a guy like Abramov just because there are a couple players ahead of him on the depth chart. I also agree with being very happy to trade Bertuzzi.</div></div>
If we're looking for depth in our prospects we can draft guys in the 2nd and 3rd rounds to do that, we have 8 picks in those rounds over the next 2 years already, don't need to give up one of our top assets to build that

Why Bertuzzi wont be a Leaf
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>I think if a trade gets done that Toronto keeps Robertson, Sandin and amirov.
My ideal trade would look something like this
Liljegren, Abramov, Mikheyev and a first.
Yes I know you said mikheyev isn't part of the future, it's more of a way to make the money work for Toronto and to fill a hole in the middle six this year that bertuzzi would leave until prospects are ready.</div></div>
I think it would make more sense to sign Bertuzzi for 4 years, and then trade him once the prospects are ready, or just keep him, he is only 26 if he slides down the depth chart in 2 years he'll probably be a 3rd liner when the guys above him are still on ELCs so his 4-4.5 cap hit won't be a big deal.
Also Abramov was another guy I wanted to mention, he plays center so he would have to compete with Larkin, Veleno, and Berggren, if one moves to the wing then his best case scenario would probably be 3rd line center

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ritzy</b></div><div>Not in the slightest. TOR will need all the cheap help they can get. That 2022 1st likely goes somewhere in a deadline deal this year.
There have been waaaaaaay too many Bertuzzi to TOR posts here. Most of which have been pretty ridiculous. It is far more likely a deal doesn't get done.
The media here loves to hype of the fans stating that everyone wants to come here, too many people buy into it.</div></div>
That's more or less what I was getting at. Dubas said he would be interested in Bertuzzi if he was available. But I think this is what it would cost atm unless it comes out that they can't get a deal done and I don't think Leafs are willing to part with that price

If Stamkos were to get traded I couldn't see Tampa adding on cap dumps and hurting their return. Ottawa was ripped on when they wanted to dump Bobby Ryan's contract on whoever traded for Karlsson

I agree that Detroit declines but disagree that they don't need LD prospects. They might have a lot but none of them I believe are going to be a good top pairing guys, so only going to take a LD if it's a blue chip guy

I would say one of the two Washington goalies if Detroit were to trade for one, but I price couldn't be too high, maybe a 2nd and 3rd just so that Washington wasn't loosing them for nothing to expansion. Other than that I'd like to see them draft one of the 2 guys projected to go in the 1st this year

If you scroll over to the right the description says that Detroit moves up to take cossa before Edmonton does. So in this case Nashville's pick would be pick 23

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ZachHymanForTheHart</b></div><div>I completely disagree.
While it may give the ‘3rd line’ an advantage, it also makes the top two lines substantially weaker (especially that 2nd line)
I understand that these guys get paid to score points, but they will score a ton more points by playing with each other.
Matthews and Marner were electric all year. The chemistry they have is undeniable. Splitting that up would be a mistake.
Maybe forming a Nylander, Matthews, Marner line is something that could be looked into (and is something I want to see), but splitting the big 4 into 3 separate lines just isn’t the way to go.</div></div>
That's fair this is just a thought I had, just feel like Tampa the past two years and the blues before that won the cup with great depth amd having Matthes/Marner and Tavares/Nylander together gives Toronto a weak 3rd line. Also didn't expect these players exactly to make the team just putting it out there to see people's thoughts on it
