Description
Building from Eli's Ottawa trade. Condensed everything down to a single trade that goes forward-for-forward as BMac indicated in a previous press conference and also accomplishes getting the Caps some usable defensive depth with future upside. Not 100% on valuation as I don't keep up with Ottawa too much, so curious how this strikes Sens fans.

I would also be interested in seeing the Caps try to flip Pageau for a pick if possible, as I'm not really sure where he would fit in the lineup.

I don't think Ottawa trades Demelo without getting a solid RHD in return. Ceci is bad and the whole right side becomes a joke if hes gone. Id do Burakovsky and apick for Pageau tho

Not enough value for Ottawa in this trade, the 3C spot isn't an easy one to fill which should make Pageau a more valuable asset plus him with DeMelo should get a better return for Ottawa.

I've seen Sens fans estimate Pageau at a 2nd and a prospect. Maybe they were being pessimistic. Many teams seem happy to offer a 2nd and 3rd for Burakovsky. Burakovsky currently has twice Pageau's points/game, this season. Career, he has 0.56 more points/60 than Pageau. Either can play on a checking line or can be a complimentary offensive guy. Burakovsky is a few years younger, and RFA, so Ottawa is getting a better player for longer. I think you've got the pick going the wrong way.

I think Washington could add Jayson Megna instead of tough RHD prospect Tyler Lewington, there. Decent 3C prospect. Played a bit of 4C in Vancouver.

Nice to see DeMelo start to get some recognition around he league. He's been so good for Ottawa, such a surprise. Hands down, the best season from any of the sens, when factoring in expectations.

Anyways, the trade isn't that far off, but I don't think we're getting rid of Pageau or Demelo anytime soon. Our two best glue guys making much less than they should be. Eugene definitely values that.

The problem with building off of an Eli AGM is that Eli mistakenly thinks that Burakovsky has a lot of value.

For trades...
RFA Burakovsky has little value (maybe a 2nd), RFA Jaskin has near no value (6th, FCs), Lewington is a meh, a 60ish pick is a meh.

This package gets one of the two players from Ottawa, not both.
