I think obviously he has a massive blemish with the ROR trade... but we may never know how much the Pegulas forced his hand to trade him before the his bonus. I think there is no denying he hasn’t built a great team to date, but even he has said this will be a process and the Sabres won’t become contenders overnight

Even if he leaves, the sabres have up pretty much nothing for Skinner so it's not really bad.

Giving up anything for a rental when you are a team that isn't good enough to contend for a playoff spot is a bad trade. Those assets could have been allocated better in a different trade.

You aren't gonna get anything much better for what we gave to get Skinner. Even as a rental we paid below market value.
