I don't hate the overall concept, but...
Staal isn't going anywhere as he just re-signed on a good deal & I believe he said, he would not waive for Boston. Also, This is an overpay. I know you are shedding backes' contract, but Senyshyn looked like he could play in the NHL as early as next year. He has unreal speed and he didn't strike me as weak on his skates (Like Donato).
Nordstrom - Fine, but I am not sure it will happen. I think they like having a couple NHL ready guys at the end of the roster - for 1m - I'd rather have him sit on the bench and be ready if someone gets hurt. He can skate and is oddly physical for a toothpick.
Heinen - I like Dadonov, but he is already 30 and this is a young man's game. I think he will have a big year next year with Barkov & Trocheck healthy and the fact he is Russian and in a contract year, but I see him turning into a 6m cap hit with 19 goals in 2-3 years. I think I would rather take my chances on Heinen. No Doubt he struggled this year, but at times he really looks like he can play. 47 points as a Rookie is not easy. I'd rather wait him out as the cheaper and "potential" option.
Moore - Why? Shed a little salary, but I'd rather just move him for picks. Personally - I see Miller as odd man out. I think he has more value because he should be a top 4, but he cannot stay healthy. I have to think Krug's time is limited as well.
I feel like you are ignoring their prospects. All of these guys have a realistic chance of making the team.
