Brodie prefers the Right Side, and all of his best years have been on the right. The reasoning was that TOR gets the top 4 right sided dman they need

Kadri for Brodie doesn't help the Leaf cap at all. Even Frolik at his one year cap 4.3m hit with no money returned is tough trade for Flames.

Czarnik is basically a dump if you need to make the money work.

Rangers won't make an Offseason trade with Kreider that doesn't include a 1st.

With the multitude of young Centers they have, I don't see them having a need for Jankowski (who only projects as a good 3C, anyway).

Rangers need Defensive help. A 1st and Kylington would work better.

My perception of the Leafs situation is that they dont have the cap space to upgrade their defence. With that trade their defence gets better while still able to get Marner and one of Johnsson or Kapanen. It's a 1 for 1 with both teams getting what they need, dealing from a position of strength. Frolik trade was for a future contending team to get a good PKer and playoff experience. I think the Flames could definitely make a trade like that happen with a team like Florida or NYI

Ah I see, I didnt realize that the value of Krieder was so high. Thats comparable to a Mark Stone level package (Kylington isnt quite like Brannstrom, but similar type of player and still quite a good prospect). I dont think cap is an issue, maybe the Flames take another look at Zucker then.
