Description
Both trades made at the draft

I'd be surprised if we trade Brodin, but I could see us doing it if we want to get a younger player on our blue line such as Kylington.

I mean all of the LD projected to go in the top 20 of the draft are all offensive defenseman. Sounds like MTL needs more of a rock on the back end. Plus, there's no guarantee any of these drafted players turn out to be what they are currently projected to be. Also anybody not drafted in the top 10 will probably be 3 years out of the NHL. Defenseman generally take longer than forwards to develop, too, so it could even be 4 years before the D they draft will crack an NHL roster. Is Montreal willing to wait that long for their top 4 D?

I’ll stop you right now, Mete was a 4th round pick, play 1 year junior after we drafted him, played on the top2 2 years in a row. So Ville Heinola can be 2-3 years from NHL ready, in 2020-2021 Romanov’s coming & Kulak is doing great right now. I know MTL might not be in the playoffs next year, I dont care. Value is there, but we need an offensive Dman like York or Heinola. Romanov is like Emelin was, but everything better ( skate, hands, shot )

MTL need a offensive LD, that’s their biggest need. A puck mover that can quarterback a PP. give me Broberg, York, Heinola, etc any day before Brodin.

Not to say Habs wouldn’t be interested in Brodin, but not for 15th overall. If MTL want a short term solution before Romanov or whoever they draft is ready. Sign Edler or trade for someone like Maatta (or someone similar) for a reasonable price and take chance with him.
