Franzen is on LTIR and costs Detroit nothing against the cap so there is no reason to move him. Helm is on the market for a 5th or 6th.

Sobotka is 31 and Detroit is getting younger so I just can't see Detroit trading for him.

Yes, the Sabres need a 2C desperately...….but I can't see Botterill or the Pegulas willingly take on Kadri - a player the Leafs want to get rid of for selfishly failing his team in time of need - when they jettisoned O'Reilly for a perceived emotionally quitting on the team with his locker room comments last summer.

Also, in a summer where the Sabres do need to invest not only in re-signing Skinner but adding 1-2 key impact pieces at center and on defense, taking on a salary cap dump like Horton's contract is not going to help their efforts.
