Yeah, too much to give just to move up 7 spots... Hoglander, Suzuki, Heinola, Lavoie or York will all be available at 15th and are close to the top 10 guys in term of talent. A trade I'd do with EDM is Lucic+Samorukov+8th overall for 15th overall

on paper it looks good for all involved .(if you dont track the draft that is )

that being said Tatar isnt worth sacrificing just to trade up .
most of the talent between 8th and 16th is NCAA bound not NHL.
unless MTL was giving up a 2nd instead of a 1st this just doesnt make much sense .

unless you're guaranteeing Lavoie is still there at 8th i just dont see it as the LD MTL need are all in Europe or NCAA developing and projected 11th-26th overall .

It would depend on whose available at 8. IMO none of the guys who I would want will slip down to 8th so for that reason I probably wouldn't do it. But if for whatever reason Byram slipped down to 8th, hell yeah!

Moving up in the draft is only viable if you know you can get someone you really really want with that pick. If its moving up just for the sake of moving up, its probably not worth it.
