Bad trade for Wings. Yes we get rid of Abdelkader but then we take an extra year of Zaitsev. Brown is at best a 3rd line winger, but probably a 4th line guy, (8 goals and 29 points last year) and we eat Marleaus cap hit. You get Daley on the cheap and decent RHD in Bowey who is progressing. Value for Wings just not there.

sure but zaitsev has much more value than abdelkader. He is a young d man who was actually good in his first year but his deployment over the last two years has made him significantly worse. He found his game again playing with muzzin at the end but the reality is the leafs cannot afford him. I know most people don't think this but I think the leafs will actually get something back for him because of his potential. Same goes for brown. 20 goals as a rookie, then demoted to 4th line. I am not saying this entirely fair but its not terribly far off. Maybe add a pick or two
