I wouldn't trade him for risto. I would love the philly trade. I think they will wait until July 2nd so they can pay his bonuses and maybe get more for him because the other teams will save more.

I cant imagine he doesn't waive his NTC either.

Wings do not want another bloated contract on defense, Green has NTC and doubt he wants to play for Babco*ck, and finally it cost you more to get rid of Zaitsev and take back a player than a 4th round pick.

From Detroit perspective, I don't hate it but I'd say you need to add.

To TOR: Green (50% ret)
To DET: Zaitsev + 2019 4th + 2020 3rd (becomes 2nd if Green scores 30 pts or plays 61 games in 2019-20)

I really don't think the Leafs can expect much in return for Zaitsev. It's the term of contract not so much the 4.5m cap hit. Leafs need cap space. So, if they cleared Zaitsev and his 4.5m Leafs would be free to fill that position on their own. Though generally I like the trades posted. Wings wouldn't give up young Bowey and Wings would keep Green and if NMC Green wants to be traded at TDL for a last chance at the the Cup then the Wings trade him for assets.
