Not sure NSH takes that straight up...but another thing...you'll need to at least DOUBLE that Connolly UFA signing...24 goals, he ain't taking tiny raise. The Caps would have him back in an instant at that price.

BTW enjoy Niskanen's aging and mistake prone defensive play. He gave everything he had to the Cup run in 2018...cheers.

Don't sign hayes just when you're reportedly close to a deal?

I think phi would have to add. I would never do that trade straight up because D is a more valuable position and his contract takes him till he's 34/35.

And enjoy Gudas’ career 0.029 shooting % along with bone head penalties. Coming off a hot 142 shots 2 goal year. Lose lose for both teams...cheers.

For Philly Niskanen needs to be a Top 4 defenseman and at least a 2nd PP unit guy. Best of luck.

For the Caps Gudas can be a 6th, maybe even 7th guy depending on if they bring back Djoos or bring up Lucas Johansen. Gudas coming back was just a function of a cap space dump, so if he plays 40 games, takes some stupid penalties, goons it up a bit so Wilson can play with more skill than grit, so be it...Caps don't need Gudas to do anything especially shoot the puck, as we've got Carlson, Orlov, even Kempny to do that. Plus Siegenthaler will have some offensive upside too. And Gudas will get less than 12 mins a game when/if he cracks the line-up. I do not see it as a lose for the Caps...

...and maybe Nisky has a decent one more year in him, so probably not lose lose for either squad.
