I’m not going to comment on the trade, for obvious reasons, but 5 years for McAvoy is literally the only term he’s guaranteed not to sign.

You keep saying 5 years is a no go, but keep in mind Matthews just signed a 5 year deal after his ELC. It's not out of the realm of possibility. Granted, Sweeney is a better GM than Dubas so it's not likely but still McAvoy might say it's 5 or nothing.
