Definitely don't think the rumor on Twitter is credible but if it is (saying that they offered him 8x6mil) true, that would be insane.

You don't have a 2020 third-round pick -- it went in the Skinner trade. Doesn't that disqualify you from making this offer?

Edit: No, I just checked, it doesn't. You can give them a 2021 third.

0% chance its true, that is the most tone deaf - slap in the face offer I could imagine for a player of his caliber. Not a gm in the league would be that dumb, if the owner told him to do it, then resign because that offer is a stain on your career
