Does anyone still think Benning has any idea what he's doing?

What was wrong with his moves recently.

Yes maybe giving up the first wasn't amazing, but everyone is writing off Myers and Millers as useless players. Both players will make a huge impact next year.

Isn't it obvious. He is tying the hands of his team with old players so that young talent cannot be developed and then can be moved for nothing to excel elsewhere. The Canucks GRAND PLAN! I am fine with Myers...sort of. But Edler? Jordie Benn? OK so they are nhl worthy- but what about the slue of young defence that we already are "developing". And now a log jam at the forward positions unless some bodies are cleared out. And next year Markstrom becomes a free agent- what will his new salary be? And who will they leave unprotected in the expansion draft Demko or Markstrom? Not my decisions.... At least there are some young nucleus players now for (hopefully) several years (If they can sign Boeser) I have a feeling that The Flock will hold out for more moola.

The only good thing he's done is hit on Petterson and Boeser, pretty much everything else he's done has been really bad. Eriksson, Beagle, (all the 4th liners he's signed to 3 or more year terms) Myers is a joke of a signing, and Miller is okay but he's a secondary piece and they want him to be a star. Benning is just bumbling around aimlessly. He's rebuilding but not rebuilding and is ready to compete but has so many holes that he's plugging with big money FA's who are overrated.
