I think you're low on Risto. Sure, Buffalo is probably going to trade him, and yes, his numbers are pretty bad, probably not Shore and a 2nd bad.

As for Ritchie, I don't see the point in selling that low on him. He had 9 points in the last 11 games of the season when he was finally put into the role that he's suited for. He may never live up to that first round potential that he had, but if he's banging bodies and going to the net, he's a good guy to have around.

Pass on all three moves. The more I hear about Sabre's fan's dissatisfaction with Ristolainen, the less I want him on this team. If we wanted a RHD that can put up a lot of points but is suspect in his own zone than we would have just held onto Montour. And we'd basically be trading the same production of Shore and Ritchie combined in Dzingle but take on more money and term with that contract. Sure that opens up spots for both Comtois and Jones but I'd rather those kids earn their spots before we make room for them. I think we should stand pat with our forwards and just sign a vet RHD that's still out there like Girardi, McQuaid, or Lovejoy.

Totally agree on the first part. I was keen for Risto (and Shatty) before, but, looking further into it, I don’t think he’s good enough to warrant making a big play for him. There are plenty of kids to be had in the draft that offer what Risto does i.e. solid offensive numbers, but poor defensively, and they’re relatively easy to find, Theodore and Montour being good examples.

I think we should just go with the kids. Maybe bring LJ back on a short term contract as security, but nothing major. If it works out, great! If it doesn’t, the kids get some experience and we draft high again next season.
