Description
I think this is realistic in regards to RFA numbers and some UFA signings as well as buyouts and cap dumps that we could potentially see. Lets start with the cap dump.

Laine & Connor- Connor is going to get paid, I think 8 aav over 7 years is a good deal for both sides. Laine is going to get paid, that's the fact of the matter. A longer bridge deal would server both sides well I believe and at 9 aav, he can still get paid while gambling for a larger number next term and this would not walk him to FA

Perreault is under performing for his contract but he is not the worst, he can still play up and down the lineup, so for a guy that can bring a veteran presence and play almost anywhere, his two years left are not that bad. He is simply a luxury we cannot afford anymore.

Kulikov- a buyout would result in a cap hit over the next two seasons that is actually pretty manageable, and we could use the room this year to sign some players.

Shattenkirk- He is already collecting money from the NY buyout for the next 4 years, so I think 3 million is a fair amount for both player, and the Jets who are giving him another chance.

Sheahan- I have always liked sheahan, and I think at slightly lower than his last deal of 2.1, 1.75 over two seasons in a lower 6 roll would do him some good and offer value for depth for the Jets.

Appleton & Vesalainen- Watching these kids over the past few seasons I believe they will crack the day one roster if it was situated as such. You could also argue that we could bring up another young player in the system as opposed to Sheahan, but ideally having three players in the lineup who we are not sure are exactly ready probably would not fly. Veteran presence is the safer bet.

Roslovic- He can get his minutes at centre and finally begin to develop into what I hope he can be one day, which is a great number 2 behind Scheifele.

Morrissey (next season)- If Roslovic can prove to make large strides, don't count a Brian Little trade or buyout out of the question to make this necessary cap room.

I am just messing around here but as a Jets fan, this is one way of navigating the recent events and coming few seasons that I would actually be okay with.

I kinda wanna see what Morrissey/pionk and beaulieu/buffy look like ahead of adding too much to bury poolman and niku, I’m kinda wondering if there is a show me bargain dman contract coming soon, for a recently bought out guy.

I wouldn’t be against a sheahan add for the right price, I kinda question if the Letestu add was a year or two late, but he might turn into a bottom 6 bargain also

No way they should give Laine $9mil for 3 years. At least 6 if it starts with a 9.
Sheahan is a poor mans Lowry. zero need for this player.
Perrault is a very useful forward. EVERYBODY improves analytically when they play with him plus this team lacks play drivers of which he is one of this teams better forwards in this regard. They got caved in last year consistently.
