I would do that trade is a new york minute. I don't know what planet your are on but you must have missed the part where they take Weise......... The guy who will play in Laval this year only... That alone is worth a 4th and getting Scandella at 50% is a great depth pickup. Heck he could even traded at the TDL later with more retention for a pick.....

Plus lets not exaggerate either Reilly < Scandella. Not by a mile but Scandella is a quality vet at 29 whose played top 4 minutes in the past. Reilly is only 3 years younger and still hasn't made an NHL full time ........

Everyone in Buffalo said trash is better than Scandella, Reilly is way better offensively, he needs to work on is D play. Scandella wont play in MTL and you know that. He wont play in Laval either, we have young guys there. Every team have better Dman than Scandella. I rather have Weise sit in Laval than Scandella sit on the scratches list ( that's mean we'll lose another player on waivers ).

I don't know if you noticed but everyone outside the of Dahlin is called trash on that blueline. I think the team sucking has more to blame then the entire blueline. As for Reilly being better offensively, where is that proof. Reilly has literally never outscored Scandella and yet he's more offensive? Who does that make sense?

Scandella is not as bad as he's made out but playing in Buffalo is a blackhole. He's better than he's shown there and he'd be a step above Reilly/Folin easily. @ 2M he is a bargain ESPECIALLY when you consider you are losing Weise in the process. Habs are saving cap in this deal and getting a much better player than Weise. All for a 4th?

Injuries happen and having good depth is paramount. Scandella is a good depth guy whose been a top 4 in the past. I think expecting to be a top 4 now is too much but he'd be a really good 5 or 6 on a team that actually has a goalie capable of making saves now and then.

I could care less about losing a player on waivers. Frankly the Habs have too many fringe NHL'ers as is. They need to stop hoarding them and let them go so that guys like Suzuki and Poehling etc don't have to constantly compete against guys who are in their prime and just barely able to make the NHL.
