the more I see Hughes play the more he should have played in the minors. It's not too late he hasn't got 9 games in yet.
They were pounding on him last night in Philly.
On top of it they don't even play him like a star player because they don't trust him. 14 minutes a night. That works for no one.
He clearly needs to develop. From what I have seen so far he does not look NHL ready. He's too small. 30 some % face off. His corsi is awful.
And on top of it, for some really **** reason the coaching staff has given him 62.5% of his starts in the defensive zone in his first 2 games. Like WTF are they trying to prove doing that.

If they aren't going to put him in a spot to succeed, and he's not ready send him to the minors somewhere to play.

I HIGHLY question Hynes coaching ability and thought process. His schematics and decision making over these past 3 games are very questionable. At some point you have to look past the players for all the blame, who has been out on the ice at certain times and what reads each player is making based on the coaches requests all falls to blame Hynes. I truly think this poor start is all on Hynes. He has only led this team to the playoffs 1 season - which should have never happened. This roster is too talented, even with question marks on D to not be a .500 team at the moment. They are getting blown out of the water in all aspects of the game and at time look lost. I agree with your point on Hughes, he is hesitant and being outworked in all 3 zones. Hes constantly making mistakes, turnovers and defensive misreads. I think a coaching change would spark a fire under everyone on the bench. Hynes is not the man for this job.
